Seol-ah's long legs carried her down the hallway toward the director's office. Every employee who saw her greeted her. Exchanging morning greetings had become part of their daily routine.
Seol-ah smiled warmly, as usual.
Even so, the two messages from last night remained a mystery to her. And then there was that overly familiar man. Unfortunately, he hadn't introduced himself, so Seol-ah had no idea what his name was.
Seol-ah stopped in front of the director's office. Her right hand immediately knocked on the door, and the person inside gave her permission to enter.
Seol-ah pushed open the black door and promptly greeted the middle-aged director.
“Good morning, Director Han.”
“Oh, Seol-ah. Did you come to talk about the additional unit at Seoryeon Heights?” Han Seok Jung guessed. The middle-aged man promptly asked Seol-ah to sit down.
Seol-ah nodded and took a seat. She pulled out her copy of the blueprint.
“There's no need to show it to me again. I already know what's in it. Your team's blueprint doesn't include that unit, but the contractor's blueprint does,” Han Seok Jung explained without bothering to look at Seol-ah's blueprint. Then he continued, “I've already called the head contractor and the CEO of Seoryeon Group.”
Seol-ah furrowed her brow. “How is that possible? If there's an additional unit on the blueprint, doesn't that mean they didn't use our company's blueprint?”
“Forget it, Seol-ah. You don't need to worry about it anymore. Seoryeon Group has paid the company, and the apartment building is ready for occupancy.”
Han Seok Jung didn't seem to take Seol-ah's complaint seriously, as long as the company got paid.
The middle-aged man continued casually, “Besides, Seoryeon Heights was an abandoned project for ten years and was only completed this year because they lost the blueprint. What a mess.”
They lost the blueprint?
Why was Seol-ah only hearing about this now?
As far as she knew, Seoryeon Heights had indeed been an abandoned project. After the new CEO was appointed, the project had started up again.
“But Director, I received two strange messages from an unknown number last night.”
Seol-ah immediately showed the messages to Han Seok Jung. The man's expression didn't change at all.
“Seol-ah. You're not a child. Why are you letting two messages bother you? Maybe your friends are playing a prank on you.”
Seol-ah wanted to believe Han Seok Jung. She hoped her friends were playing a prank on her, since her birthday was coming up.
Maybe they were planning a surprise for her.
But...
What about the words of that man she didn't know?
“If you don't have anything else to discuss, get back to work,” Han Seok Jung ordered.
Seol-ah didn't bother him any longer and promptly took her leave.
Seol-ah went to lunch alone at a restaurant not far from her company. Today, she didn't feel like eating in the company cafeteria.
As soon as Seol-ah entered the restaurant, a message alert sounded from her phone. She quickly took her phone out of her bag before looking for an empty table.
Seol-ah's eyes widened in shock when she saw the screen.
Another message from that unknown number.
This time, it wasn't a text message. It was a photo.
A photo of Seol-ah's back as she entered the restaurant.
“Damn it,” Seol-ah cursed under her breath. “Are they never going to stop messing with me?”
She called the number. But the call only connected, with no one answering.
“This is seriously annoying.”
Seol-ah hurried out of the restaurant. She scanned the entire street with her brown eyes, hoping to find the person who had taken her picture.
There was nothing suspicious.
“Whoever sent this message must be really determined to scare me, huh.”
“If I find you, you won't be able to live in peace anymore.” Seol-ah swore.
A tall man dressed in black looked incredibly handsome, with a pale, spotless face and neatly styled hair.
Whether intentionally or not, the man bumped into Seol-ah's shoulder.
“Oh, sorry,” the man said. “Ah, you again,” he continued.
Seol-ah looked up at the man who had bumped her shoulder.
This man again.
“You again. Don't tell me you're that person. Are you following me?” Seol-ah asked bluntly.
The man laughed derisively. “Following you? Are you really that important, Miss?”
