Indri and Rudi’s relationship wasn’t always good. When they fought, Indri came to Andi. When Indri cried, Andi listened. When Indri was disappointed, Andi comforted her. Andi was always there. And that was his biggest mistake. He became the place Indri came home to... while his own heart never became a home for Indri. One night, Indri cried in front of him. “I’m tired, Ndi.” Andi handed her a tissue. “If you’re tired, get some rest.” “I’m afraid of losing him.” Andi smiled bitterly. “If he’s really meant for you, you don’t have to be afraid of losing him.” Indri looked at him. “How do you always know what to say?” Andi let out a soft laugh. “Because I’ve spent a long time learning how to hide what I feel.” Indri didn’t understand what he meant. She simply rested her head on Andi’s shoulder. And Andi let her. Even though his chest was screaming: “Don’t lean on me if your heart still chooses someone else.” But love that runs too deep often makes someone willing to become a place for another to lean... even when they themselves are close to collapsing.
