Zixo arrives in Jakarta with only an old suitcase, his parents' prayers, and the resolve to get through college without constantly asking for help. On campus he meets Sefti, a lovely girl from a rich family who is secretly worn out by living according to other people's choices. They grow close through classes, books, and small outings fitted in between Zixo's hectic schedule selling merchandise. But their love must face Andre, the wealthy man Sefti's family picked for her, along with the class barrier the adults around them have built. When Sefti's family business falls apart and Andre's betrayal comes to light, Zixo has to prove that being poor is no shame and that love is more than a promise. From Jakarta to Germany, they discover that loyalty takes courage, and that the future must be built, not inherited.
