Under the moonlight, Satrio's shadow looked more solid than ever. Every step he took was filled with confidence. He left that intersection not as the Yoyi of old, but as Satrio, a true man who had found his own path.
His resolve was stronger now, no longer just for Jo, but also for himself—for proof that the painful process he had endured had truly changed him.
At the end of the road, Satrio's shadow slowly faded, swallowed by the thick darkness of night. His friends were still standing in the same place, not moving, watching the figure disappear. For a moment, silence reigned, broken only now and then by the roar of passing motorcycles.
Yanti looked at Amira, Maria, and Malika. "I'm proud of him," he said quietly. "He really did it."
Maria nodded, her eyes glistening. "I never thought Yi... uh, Yo, could be that strong."
"Remember when he said he wanted to train in martial arts?" Malika recalled. "I thought he just wanted to try it because he was in love."
"He really is a true man. His love for Jo is enormous. That girl has had a huge impact on Yoyi's life." Yanti stared into the distance.
"Satrio, Ti," Amira said, "Yoyi was buried deep by Jo," she continued with a snicker.
Yanti took off his wig. "I want to change too."
"Change into what?" Malika asked.
"Change into the black steel warrior," Amira continued, bursting into laughter.
"Into Yanto, obviously!" Yanti wiped the lipstick from his lips. "If Satrio can do it, so can I."
"We all can." Maria was determined to transform herself into a complete man as well.
Yanto smiled, then looked back toward the now-empty road. "He's found his path. He knows what he wants to become. Our job now is to support him, so he doesn't waver."
"By becoming true men just like him!" Maria and Malika exclaimed in unison.
They turned around and prepared to disperse. That night, beneath the dim streetlights, they felt a little more whole. Satrio's departure wasn't a farewell, but the beginning of a new story filled with hope. Satrio had found his path, and they, his friends, had become silent witnesses to the birth of a true man.
Meanwhile, Satrio walked along the quiet streets, accompanied by the rhythm of his own footsteps. Every step he took felt lighter than before. He no longer felt empty, no longer searched for the meaning of his existence. Now he knew who he was.
His thoughts drifted back to the past, to when he was still Yoyi, fragile and full of fear. He remembered how people had called him by hurtful names. He remembered how he had tried to become someone others would like, so Jo could accept his presence.
When he reached the dormitory, Satrio immediately sprawled out on the bed. He stared at the ceiling and smiled faintly. A sense of relief and indescribable happiness filled him. He closed his eyes, allowing himself to sink into the silence.
The next morning, cold air enveloped the dormitory. Satrio had woken up much earlier than usual. Standing in front of the mirror, he looked at his reflection. Yoyi was there, a figure full of wounds and fear. But Satrio was there too, a man now strong and full of determination. He looked at himself, then slowly tied his shoelaces. There was no hesitation left in his eyes. Only focus and readiness.
With confident steps, he walked out of the room. Unlike usual, he no longer walked with his head down. He walked upright, head held high, as if every step were a declaration. He was no longer afraid of other people's judgment. Now he knew he had the right to stand as tall as anyone else.
He arrived at the training area. The other team members had already gathered, their eyes fixed on Satrio as he arrived with a new look in his eyes. There was some whispering, but Satrio didn't care. He simply looked ahead, toward the field where he would prove himself.
The final training session began. The coach's shouts echoed across every corner of the field. Satrio ran fast, his leaps were agile, and every punch he threw was incredibly powerful. He was no longer burdened by fear. He was focused only on his goal. Every movement he made, every drop of sweat that fell, was proof of his transformation.
The coach watched him, admiration shining in his eyes. Stepping forward to face his opponent was the culmination of his journey. He no longer saw his opponent as a threat, but as a mirror showing him how far he had come. Whatever the outcome of this training, he had already won. Satrio had found himself again.
"You've made a lot of progress," Mr. Roni said in a deep voice, his gaze fixed on Satrio. "It's not just your body that's strong, but your mind too."
Satrio smiled proudly. "Thank you, sir."
"Don't get too proud yet," Mr. Roni cut in with a grin. "There's an additional test today. If you pass, there's a job waiting for you."
"A job?" Satrio furrowed his brow.
"Yes. As a personal bodyguard. Your client is a young businesswoman, a career woman. She has plenty of achievements and assets, but her life is also full of threats. Your job is to protect her twenty-four hours a day."
Yoyi fell silent, thinking for a moment. "I'm ready, sir."
"Good," Mr. Roni said. "Now, follow me."
Yoyi's final test was a simulation. He had to face two attackers at once, played by two senior instructors. Both attacked Yoyi brutally, without mercy. Yoyi tried to block, counter, and hold his ground. He took several punches, but he didn't fall. He remembered all the training he had endured, all the taunts he had received, and all his friends' hopes. Satrio finally managed to disable both attackers with clean, swift techniques.
Mr. Roni nodded in satisfaction. "Congratulations, Satrio. You passed. Now get ready. You have to start work tomorrow morning."
The next morning, Satrio was dressed neatly in a black suit. Mr. Roni was waiting for him in front of the dormitory. A luxury car was already parked there.
"Satrio," Mr. Roni greeted him. "Are you ready?"
Satrio nodded firmly. "Ready, sir."
Inside the car, Satrio was still curious. "Sir, may I ask you something?"
"What?"
"My client... what is she like?"
Mr. Roni smiled faintly and turned toward Satrio. "She's... a highly successful young businesswoman. Smart, visionary, and extremely focused on her work."
The car continued speeding along, leaving behind the streets that were familiar to Satrio. Every mile felt like a distance separating him from his past. Satrio arrived at a magnificent skyscraper.
Satrio followed Mr. Roni into the building. They took the elevator and stopped at the top floor. He wore a black suit that fit his muscular body perfectly. His neatly trimmed hair added to his handsome appearance.
He was escorted to a spacious room where his new boss was waiting. When the door opened, a beautiful woman in a fitted business suit stood there. She looked charismatic.
'Her face looks so much like... could she be her?'
