Genre: Romance / A Life Full of Meaning Characters: Arif — a sincere, quiet young man; Sekar — a gentle, patient girl
Act 1: An Unplanned Encounter
That afternoon, the sun began to sink slowly, painting the sky in soft golden hues. In the quiet Twilight Garden, the only sound was the whisper of leaves stirred by the wind. Arif sat on an old wooden bench, calmly reading his favorite book. His heart was at peace, as though time had stopped turning in that place.
Suddenly, the soft sound of approaching footsteps reached him. A girl hurried by and accidentally brushed against Arif's arm. The book in his hands slipped and fell to the ground.
“Ah, I'm sorry! Please forgive me—I didn't mean to!” The girl knelt down and picked up the book with her delicate hands. Her face flushed with regret. When she looked up, their eyes met.
Arif was stunned for a moment. Standing before him was a girl with clear eyes that shone softly, as if radiating peace.
“It's all right,” Arif said softly, smiling with sincerity. “I'm fine. You don't need to worry.”
The girl smiled back, a smile that seemed to match the beauty of the twilight sky. “Thank you. My name is Sekar.”
“Arif.”
When their hands brushed as she returned the book, a faint tremor ran through them. Silence enveloped them for a moment, but it wasn't an awkward silence—it was warm, as though their hearts had known each other for a long time.
“I have to go now, Arif. See you again,” Sekar said softly before walking away.
“See you again, Sekar...” Arif murmured to himself, watching the girl's back until she disappeared behind the trees.
From that day on, Arif came to Twilight Garden every afternoon. He didn't know why, but his heart always hoped to see Sekar appear again among the garden paths. Day after day passed, but Sekar never came. People might have called it a waste of time to keep waiting, but to Arif, waiting felt like praying.
