# Chapter 8
After the day had gone by slowly and going through the motions, the final bell rang, and I was more than glad. Even though everyone had been more than nice, I was just over it. I hated being the new kid—period.
As I cleared the first floor stairwell on my way out to walk over to get Bobby, I heard, "Hey, want to walk home together?" I looked behind me to see the cute boy from my first period.
"Umm, I guess that would be fine, but I need to stop over at the elementary school and get my brother," I said.
"Ok, cool. And by the way, in case you didn't hear earlier today, my name is Tim," he said, holding out his hand for me to shake.
Before taking his hand, I found myself caught in his big, dark, mysterious eyes. A strange feeling washed over me, almost like I had known him in another life. He had that rugged bad boy look. He was about five foot six and looked like he was an athlete, but I don't know any jock that wears leather though, so that was out.
"Umm… my name is Tim," he said, waving his outstretched hand with a light chuckle to snap me out of it.
"Right! Sorry," I mumbled, feeling my cheeks warm as I quickly shook his hand. "I'm Krystal."
"I know," he smiled, stepping into stride beside me as we pushed through the heavy exit doors.
