Lana smiled as she wondered what would happen if she had to leave Naya later. What if Lana turned out to be the reason Naya was sad?
*Nay, I'll do everything I can to always be by your side,* Lana thought.
Flashback OFF
Lana hurried out of the café because she had to catch a flight to a city. She didn't want to be late. Her heart desperately wanted to keep looking at Naya, but she was doing all this so she could be with Naya again someday, before it was too late.
Naya got up from her seat to chase after the person from earlier, but she was too late. The person had already left the café and gotten into their car.
Naya went to the cashier's counter to ask about the person who had been sitting alone in the corner earlier.
"Excuse me, I wanted to ask... What did the guy sitting over there order, and what name was it under?" Naya asked, pointing to the table in question.
"I'm sorry, but we can't give out the name because that's our customer's private information. As for the drink, that person ordered an Americano mixed with cranberry," the cashier replied.
"Hmm... I see. But does he come here often?" Naya asked again.
"You could say so, whenever he's in this city," the cashier replied.
"What do you mean? So he doesn't live here?" Naya asked curiously.
"I'm sorry, but for more information, you'll have to ask the person involved. It's not my place to answer that."
"All right, then. Thanks so much for the information." Naya nodded.
Naya returned to her table. "What's wrong, Nay? Do you know that person from earlier?" Arya asked.
"Oh, no. I think he just looked like someone I know," Naya replied.
Naya wrestled with her thoughts. His order had been exactly the same as the drink Lana usually ordered. But in this world, she wasn't the only person who ordered a drink like that.
*Why did his eyes look so much like hers?* Naya thought.
Arya nudged Naya's arm. "Nay, are you okay?"
"You've been spacing out this whole time," Arya added.
"Uh, yeah... I guess I'm just feeling a little under the weather," Naya said.
"How about we go home? You can get some rest. I don't want you to get worn out later," Arya offered, a little worried.
Naya agreed to Arya's suggestion. Right now, she really just wanted to get to her room and tell her best friends about what she had seen.
Not long afterward, Arya said goodbye and headed home after dropping Naya off at her house.
Naya immediately started a video call with her best friends to tell them about what she had seen.
"Please, Nay. There are tons of people in this city who look like Lana. If you can't confirm right then and there whether it was Lana or not, then maybe she just looked like her," Amanda said.
"Besides, Nay, aren't you tired of waiting for someone whose whereabouts you don't even know? You've already been waiting for her for eight years. Have you ever thought about moving on with Arya?" Putri asked.
"Exactly what Putri said, Nay. From what I can see, Arya's a really great guy too. He's financially secure, has a clear career, a steady income, and his family knows yours. He's handsome, too," Amanda added.
"Oh, please. You're the one who wants him," Putri teased.
"Ugh, guys, enough. Don't make my head hurt even more. I'm going to get some rest now. Bye, my loves..." Naya said.
Beep... The call ended.
As she stared at her bedroom ceiling, Naya thought about Amanda's suggestion that she move on from Lana. She promised herself she'd start tomorrow because she felt she'd already spent long enough waiting for something uncertain.
Ding-dong...
