That morning, Keira Namira woke up earlier than usual.
Although anxiety over Mrs. Anggun's arrival the day before had filled her thoughts all night, she still followed her usual routine.
After preparing breakfast, she helped Christ choose the tie he would wear to the office.
"The blue one or the gray one?" Christ asked as he stood in front of the mirror.
Keira smiled faintly.
"The blue one. It goes well with your shirt."
Christ nodded.
"If it's my wife's choice, it has to be the best one."
Keira let out a soft giggle.
"You."
After having breakfast together, Christ kissed Keira's forehead before leaving.
"I might come home a little late. I have a meeting with several investors."
"Don't worry. I'll wait for you."
Christ took his wife's hand.
"If Mom comes again, call me right away."
Keira shook her head gently.
"I can handle her."
"It's not about whether you can or can't."
Christ looked at her seriously.
"I don't want you to be alone if Mom starts going too far."
Keira nodded.
"Okay."
Christ's car then drove out of the yard.
Keira let out a long sigh before going back inside.
She never imagined that Christ's words from a few minutes earlier would come true.
Around ten in the morning.
The doorbell rang.
Keira opened the door.
"Mrs. Anggun..."
The woman had come back, this time accompanied only by her driver.
"I want some tea."
"Of course, Mrs. Anggun."
Keira invited her mother-in-law inside.
A short while later, a cup of hot tea was served on the table.
Mrs. Anggun sipped it slowly while surveying everything in the house.
The house was always clean.
Everything was neatly arranged.
That only irritated her because she couldn't find a reason to scold Keira.
Suddenly, her gaze stopped on a small velvet box on the table.
Inside was the Blanco family's diamond brooch.
Keira had only just noticed it.
"That's Christ's. He forgot to take it with him this morning."
Mrs. Anggun picked up the box.
"Hmm."
She opened it briefly, then closed it again.
A few minutes later, when Keira went to the kitchen to get some snacks, she deliberately placed it inside her bag.
Her movements were so quick that no one saw her.
When Keira returned, Mrs. Anggun was already standing.
"I'm leaving."
"Be careful on your way home, Mrs. Anggun."
Without returning Keira's smile, Mrs. Anggun walked out.
Toward evening.
The Blanco family home suddenly grew crowded.
Several relatives had gathered for a family meeting.
Christ also arrived after finishing work.
Once everyone was seated in the family room, Mrs. Anggun suddenly said,
"Christ."
"Yes, Mom?"
"The family heirloom brooch is missing."
Everyone immediately exchanged glances.
"Missing?"
"Yes."
"It was your grandmother's brooch."
Christ frowned.
"It was still there this morning."
Mrs. Anggun nodded.
"That's right."
"And?"
Mrs. Anggun's gaze slowly turned toward Keira.
"Before it disappeared... it was in your house."
The room suddenly fell silent.
Keira froze.
"What are you implying, Mom?"
Mrs. Anggun answered calmly.
"Since the wedding, Keira is the only new person to join this family."
"Mom!"
Christ cut her off immediately.
"Are you accusing my wife of stealing?"
"I'm not accusing anyone."
"Then what?"
"I'm only stating the facts."
Keira gripped the hem of her shirt.
"Mrs. Anggun... I didn't take anything."
Mrs. Anggun gave her a cold look.
"Then prove it."
Several aunts began whispering.
"What if it's true?"
"She's not exactly from a wealthy family."
"Who knows? Maybe she was tempted."
Keira's face turned pale.
She never expected to be humiliated like this.
Christ stood up.
"Enough."
Everyone fell silent.
"I trust my wife."
Mrs. Anggun smiled sardonically.
"You're allowed to trust her."
"But don't let love blind you."
A few minutes later, a servant hurried in.
"Mrs. Anggun..."
"What is it?"
"I found something."
The servant handed her the velvet box.
Keira recognized it immediately.
"That..."
Mrs. Anggun pretended to be shocked.
"Where did you find it?"
"Inside Mrs. Keira's bag."
The room erupted.
"Oh my God..."
"Was it really her?"
Keira's eyes widened.
"That's impossible!"
"It isn't mine!"
Mrs. Anggun slowly shook her head.
"The evidence was found in your bag."
"I never put it in there!"
Tears began welling up in Keira's eyes.
She truly had no idea how the item had ended up in her bag.
Christ picked up his wife's bag.
He emptied out everything inside.
Her wallet.
Her phone.
Tissues.
And sure enough...
The box was in there.
Keira shook her head in panic.
"I swear, I don't know."
Christ looked at his wife for several seconds.
Then he closed the bag.
"I believe you."
Keira looked at her husband with tear-filled eyes.
"You... believe me?"
"Yes."
"Without a doubt."
Mrs. Anggun stood up.
"Christ! The evidence is clear!"
Christ looked at his mother.
"Evidence can be fabricated."
His words left everyone speechless.
"Mom."
"I know my wife."
"She would never steal."
"But—"
"If someone wants to accuse her, then find real evidence."
"Don't destroy someone's dignity."
The atmosphere grew extremely tense.
Mrs. Anggun clenched her fists.
She never expected her son to continue defending Keira.
On the way home, Keira remained silent.
Her hands had been trembling the entire time.
Once they arrived home, she could no longer hold back her tears.
"I really don't know how that brooch ended up in my bag."
Christ immediately pulled his wife into his arms.
"I know."
"But everyone saw it."
"I don't care."
Keira cried against her husband's shoulder.
"They must think I'm a thief."
Christ slowly rubbed Keira's back.
"Listen to me."
Keira lifted her face.
"I'd rather believe the woman I love than an accusation that might not even be true."
Keira broke down sobbing.
She hugged Christ even tighter.
"Thank you..."
Christ gently kissed the crown of his wife's head.
"From now on, I'm sure."
"Sure of what?"
"Mom has started attacking you."
Keira lowered her head.
"Are we going to be okay?"
Christ gave her a faint smile.
"We'll face everything together."
Meanwhile, Mrs. Anggun sat in her study with a cold expression.
Her personal assistant entered carrying a cup of coffee.
"Today's plan failed, ma'am."
Mrs. Anggun smiled faintly.
"No."
The assistant was confused.
"Ma'am?"
"Today was only the beginning."
She looked at the photo of Keira on the desk.
"If a little slander isn't enough to separate them..."
"...I'll create a much bigger game."
Ambition filled Mrs. Anggun's gaze.
She swore that sooner or later, Keira Namira would leave Christ Manuel Blanco's life, willingly or not.</n
