QUIET LEVERAGE
Episode 2 – Emma
Mark was already behind him when the morning light hit the IT glass. Not a slap this time. A shadow. The same shadow that had learned, overnight, that a quiet man could hide a stick.
“I checked the logs. Someone copied a restricted folder yesterday. Any idea who?”
Alex’s fingers stopped on the keys. His throat clicked. His shoulders locked but did not fold. His jaw set.
“I only work on assigned tickets.”
Mark leaned in. Breath on the nape. A knuckle tapped the edge of the monitor.
“Don’t play dumb, mouse. I’m watching you. One wrong move and you’re gone.”
Then Mark left. Alex let the air out slow. His thumb rubbed the mouse. His eyes stayed on the screen.
He knows something. Not everything. But enough to start digging. I need to stay quiet. Quieter than usual. The files are safe. For now.
At the next desk Emma, twenty, hunched over a red wall of code. Low ponytail. Blue office shirt, collar a little open, black trousers cut close. Her shoulders shook. Mark passed her screen, stopped one second, and laughed loud enough for the nearby desks.
“New girl already breaking the staging server? Great. Just what we need. Another liability.”
Emma sank lower. Color climbed her face. Her fingers trembled on the keys. She said nothing. Her mouth sealed.
Alex looked over once. Short. Then he went back to his own screen and hit the keys harder than usual.
Late afternoon emptied the bay. Air conditioning and scattered typing. Thin gold through the windows. Emma was still there, shaking from fatigue and shame, blue sleeves wrinkled at the elbows, the screen a field of red. She kept hitting undo and typing the same wound again.
Alex stood with a water bottle, passed her desk, stopped. He looked at the screen one second.
“You’re looping the same failed query. That’s why it keeps crashing.”
She startled up. Eyes wide. Cheeks still hot. She swallowed.
“I tried everything in the documentation. It still fails. I’ve been stuck for three hours.”
He pulled a chair and sat half a meter off. Not close. He pointed at a line.
“Here. You’re calling the old endpoint. They migrated it last month. No one updated the wiki. Common mistake.”
She followed his finger, then his face. Surprise first, then relief. Her shoulders dropped a fraction.
“You just saw that in two seconds? I’ve been going in circles.”
“I’ve fixed the same crash six times this week. People keep using the old path. I just notice patterns.” Quiet. Almost shy.
He typed a few exact lines. Red went green. The server held. She exhaled.
She looked at him properly for the first time.
“Mark was really harsh earlier. To both of us. Does he always do that?”
He did not look at her. A small nod. Fingers tapped the desk edge. The space between them went still.
“He does that to anyone he thinks is below him. Ignore him if you can. Don’t give him reaction.”
She kept looking. Half a meter. Her breath light and a little fast. He stood as if to leave.
Her hand touched his wrist. Very light. Then gone.
“Thank you. Really. Most people here don’t help the new ones. You’re different.” Almost a whisper.
He stopped. Looked at the wrist. Swallowed. Sat again. Said nothing. Opened his laptop on the next desk and worked in silence.
She went back to her screen and glanced at him now and then. Each glance put pink in her face. Her typing slowed.
After hours the overheads were half dead. Only screens and a desk lamp. The outer glass had gone dark. The city floated far off.
Only Alex and Emma. The air conditioner. No one else.
She stood for water. On the way back her foot caught a chair. He caught her arm on reflex.
Skin. Both of them froze. She did not pull away. He did not either. His fingers still held.
“Sorry. I’m clumsy when I’m tired. And nervous.” Eyes down.
“It’s fine. Happens.”
He let go by degrees. A handspan left between them.
She lifted her face. Eyes on his. No dodge. Mouth a little open.
“You’re different from yesterday. The way you stood up to Mark this morning, even if it was quiet. I noticed.”
He did not answer at once. His breath went deeper.
“I just answered his question. Nothing more.”
“Most people would have folded. You didn’t. That’s attractive. In a quiet way.” Almost a smile.
She took half a step. Blue cotton touched white cotton. She did not pull the sleeve back. He looked at the contact and did not retreat.
“Can I stay a bit longer? I don’t want to go home yet. It’s quiet here. With you.” A whisper now.
He nodded, very slow. No words. Eyes on her.
She dragged the chair closer. They sat in the dark with a bright screen between them. Arms brushed when they typed. Neither flinched. Her breath was audible.
Later she tipped her head onto his shoulder. One second. Then she sat up, face red. Fingers worried the hem of the blue shirt.
“Sorry. I didn’t mean to lean on you. I just felt safe.”
“It’s okay. You can.” Quiet. Almost gone.
He turned. This time he did not look away. She swallowed. Her mouth opened a little.
He lifted a hand. His thumb touched her cheek and slid near the corner of her mouth. Barely there.
She shut her eyes for that second of skin, then opened them. Wet with feeling or want.
“Alex. Can I?” Breathless.
He leaned in. His mouth met hers. Slow. Careful. A question.
She answered at once. Soft mouth, a shake in it. Her hands took his shirt and pulled him in. The kiss went deeper.
Night took the bay. The kiss went further. Tongue. They stood and pressed together in the gap between desks.
Her hands slid inside his shirt onto hot skin. He shook once. He pulled her blue shirt free of the trousers and opened the buttons from the bottom up.
The shirt fell open. Her breasts showed under the lamp, half held by a bra. His hand traveled from waist to the underside of the cups.
“I’ve never done this in an office. Or with someone I work with.” Against his mouth. Shy. Wanting.
“Neither have I. We can stop anytime. Just say it.” Low. Honest.
She shook her head and pulled him closer.
“Don’t stop. Please. I want this. I want you.”
He stripped the bra and drew the shirt off her shoulders. Small breasts, pale pink nipples already tight. He bent, kissed, then took one into his mouth, slow suck, tongue circling.
She tipped her head, mouth wide. Hands in his hair. Short sounds. Shoulders shaking.
He switched sides. Lick, a hint of teeth. His other hand opened her trousers and found thin cloth already wet.
She gasped. She opened his belt and dragged his trousers down. His cock sprang out, hard, thick, the head wet. She stared, then took him in both hands and stroked base to head, feeling the veins.
“You’re bigger than I imagined. So hard. Will it fit? I’m not very experienced.” Soft. Almost awe. Still stroking.
“We’ll go slow. Tell me if it hurts. I’ll stop the second you say so. Keep doing that with your hands. It feels good.” Gentle. Controlled. Breathing harder.
She stroked faster, a twist at the head. He made a sound. He stripped her trousers and underwear. Her thighs opened under the lamp.
Two fingers between her thighs, through the wet, then inside, curling. Thumb on her clit. She opened her mouth. Her hips chased him. He went slow, then faster.
“Ah. Your fingers. Deeper. Yes. Just like that.” Gasping. Still stroking him.
A third finger. She shook hard. Her grip on him timed to the work of his hand. They touched and watched each other.
He went to his knees between her thighs. Kissed inward and up. Hot breath on her. Then his tongue on her clit, slow from below, two fingers still in.
She lay back on the desk, spine on the keyboard. Hands in his hair. When he came up she pulled him closer and bit his nipple, light, then licked the bite.
“Fuck. Do that again.” Sharp breath. Surprised. Pleased.
She bit again, a little harder, then sucked. He groaned small. He sucked her harder and found the spot inside her at the same time.
“Inside. I want you inside me. Now. Please. I can’t wait anymore.” Pulling him up, desperate.
He stood. The head rubbed her open, wet, sliding. He looked the question. She nodded hard and pulled his hips in.
“No condom. Are you sure? Last chance to change your mind.”
“I’m on the pill. I’m sure. Please. Just put it in. I need to feel you.” No hesitation.
He pushed in slow. Very slow. Her mouth went wide. Nails scraped the desk. Her hips took him a centimeter at a time. Eyes open.
“Fuck. You’re stretching me. So full. So thick. Alex.” A strained whisper that got louder.
He seated himself and stopped. Both gasping. Then a slow, deep, even rhythm. Almost out, then to the end.
The desk shivered with them.
“You feel so tight. So warm. Tell me if you want faster. Or deeper. I’ll give you whatever you need.” Against her ear.
“Faster. Harder. I can take it. Please. Fuck me properly. Alex.” Louder moans.
Her calling of his name climbed. He covered her mouth with a hand. She looked at him, eyes wet, moaning into the palm.
“Quiet. Someone might still be around. Bite my hand if you have to.” Low. Warning. Aroused.
She nodded. Quieter, still saying his name. He sped. One hand on her hip pulling her onto every thrust. The other still on her mouth.
He pulled out, stood her up, turned her, bent her over the desk, and drove back in from behind, one deep stroke to the root. The hand stayed near her mouth.
“Yes. From behind. Deeper. Grab my hips. Alex.” Against his palm.
He took her hips hard and drove even. Skin slapped in the empty office. His other hand took her hair and tipped her head. Her back arched. When she got louder he covered her mouth again.
“You like being bent over the desk like this? Quiet little junior taking every inch so well. Look at you. Trying not to scream my name.”
“Yes. I like it. Fuck me harder. Use me. I’ve wanted this since I first saw you. Alex.” No shyness left.
He gave it. Rougher. Deeper. She bit his finger when she moaned. Her breasts pressed cold wood.
He pulled out again. Sat in his own chair. Drew her onto his lap, facing him, her legs around his waist, and entered from below, deep.
“So deep. This angle. Fuck. I can feel you everywhere. Alex.” Sinking, gasping.
She rode. He held her hips and helped the rhythm, kissing and biting throat, collarbone, breast. When she got loud he kissed her mouth and swallowed the sound.
“Ride me. Take what you need. You’re so wet it’s dripping on my thighs. Such a good girl. Keep saying my name.” Against her neck. Low. Rough.
“Because of you. Only because of you. I’m so close. Don’t stop. Alex. Alex.” Harder. Voice rising.
Louder. He covered her mouth again. She moaned into the palm, thighs locked, whole body shaking. He thrust up harder.
“I’m cumming. Alex. I’m cumming on your cock. So hard.” Breaking against his hand.
She clenched hard. Shook hard. He held her close, hand still on her mouth, and kept moving through it until she eased. Broken breath.
He was close. Hips catching. He looked at her. She nodded hard under his hand, eyes begging.
“Inside. Cum inside me. Please. I want to feel every drop. Fill me. Alex.” Still pulsing. Muffled.
He let out a long breath, almost a groan. A few last deep strokes. Then he locked, body rigid, and came in hot pulses. She held his neck and took every wave, shaking with them.
They stayed on the chair. Breathing hard. The screen still lit sweat on their skin.
A little later she was still in his lap, head on his shoulder. Breath not even. Arms around his neck.
He rubbed her back in slow circles. Said nothing for a while. Only the hand.
“You okay? Was I too rough at the end? You were getting loud.”
“No. It was perfect. Better than okay. Intense in the best way. Thank you for covering my mouth. And for going slow at first.” Soft. Smiling against his shoulder.
She sat up. Looked at him. Cheeks still pink. Mouth a little swollen.
“I’ve liked you since the first week. The quiet way you work. The way you notice things. I just never thought someone like you would notice me back.” Shy again. Honest.
He looked at her. No dodge. Fingers stroked her arm from wrist to elbow.
“I didn’t plan it either. But I’m not sorry. You’re easy to notice once I started looking.”
She kissed him once, light, then stayed undressed a few more seconds. She looked down at him, still half hard, then up at his face.
“I want to do this with you again. Not just tonight. If you want.” Soft. Clear.
He looked at her. Darker. Fingers at her waist.
“I want that too.”
She laughed, shy, stood, and started dressing, hands still shaking. He pulled his trousers up and buckled.
While she fastened buttons, hall light bloomed far off. Heavy steps.
Both froze. She turned away fast. He killed the screen, pulled the chair in, sat as if working.
Night security passed the glass, looked in a beat longer than normal, and walked on. Did not stop.
She exhaled. A shy laugh. Face still red. Shirt on, collar crooked.
“That was close. Too close.”
“Go home. I’ll stay a bit longer to clear the logs. No one will know.”
She nodded. At the door she came back, kissed his cheek fast, then his mouth, very light, and slipped into the hall.
He stood alone in the dark. Looked at the desk and the chair. Looked at his hands.
Two nights. Two women. Both wanted me. Both came for me. The quiet mouse is starting to get noticed. And Mark is starting to dig deeper. I need to be careful. But damn. It feels good to be wanted.
He sat, opened the machine, and started wiping access traces and logs. Screen light on a calmer face. More sure. Shoulders straight.
Next morning Laura, manager, forty-one, stood in the glass meeting-room door and looked toward the IT corner. Her gaze rested on Alex’s face a few seconds longer than work required. She smiled, very small, as if measuring.
He was working. He did not look up. But his shoulders no longer folded the way they had.
