“Get him!!!”
The furious shout echoed through the Heavenly Nirvana Empire palace as dozens of palace troops chased a white-clad young man moving with incredible agility. Their shouts were filled with anger and frustration because they still had not managed to capture the young man, who was running incredibly fast.
The young man showed no intention of surrendering to his pursuers, even though they vastly outnumbered him. He did not even try to fight them off and drive them back to make it easier to escape the endless pursuit.
“STOP!”
The palace troops’ loud shouts were completely ignored by the young man as he ran swiftly to evade them.
The dozens of palace troops seemed to be running out of breath after chasing the white-clad young man without pause, yet his face showed no sign of exhaustion. In fact, he even stopped and smiled at them when they halted to rest for a moment.
“There’s no point in trying to chase me down and capture me... I won’t surrender because I’m not guilty of what you’ve accused me of!”
“The Emperor ordered us to capture you! Obey the Emperor’s order, and you’ll be fine!” one of the palace troops shouted back.
“Bah! I don’t believe in the Emperor of Heavenly Nirvana! He only cares about himself!”
The white-clad young man’s words shocked them deeply. In Heavenly Nirvana, no one dared insult the Emperor the way this young man had.
The young man started running away again, forcing the palace troops, who had barely rested, to chase after him once more.
The white-clad young man moved so quickly that he appeared to be nothing more than a streaking white shadow racing through every corner of the imperial palace. The trailing tail of white shadow he left behind was also incredibly beautiful, constantly following his swift movement.
Unfortunately, the young man ran so fast that he caused destruction wherever he passed. Many roads and walls were damaged by the energy surging from the white-clad young man, whose mere gusts of wind were powerful enough to shatter rocks of any hardness.
The wind also howled whenever the young man shot forward like an intangible white shadow. Even those powerful gusts could hurl his pursuers away if they got too close, demonstrating the extraordinary strength of the young man being chased by the palace troops.
Judging by his abilities, it was clear that this young man was no ordinary person. Yet the reason so many palace troops were chasing him remained a great mystery—unless it was because the Emperor had ordered them to capture him.
The palace guards stumbled and fell as they pursued the young man, trying to ambush and capture him. Frustration had begun to show on their faces. If they got too close, the young man’s wind energy would send them flying. If they failed to capture him, the Emperor’s severe punishment awaited them, making them even more terrified.
The young man was faster than the palace troops chasing him, making him incredibly difficult to capture. Not one of the palace troops could match the speed of the white-clad young man. As time passed, he only accelerated further.
“STOP!!!”
Once again, the palace guards’ shouts were completely ignored. Instead, the young man sped up even more, using a high-level light-body technique that caused him to float as if flying while running through the air.
No matter how many palace troops there were, they were no match for a single white-clad young man who continued streaking forward without allowing them to touch him.
This ability proved that the young man was a top-level cultivator who had reached the Immortal level and perfected his martial arts techniques. But why was a cultivator who had reached the Immortal level being chased by the palace troops? Why did he merely run away instead of knocking them aside or injuring them so he could escape freely?
“You won’t get away this time, Wu Long! The Emperor demands that you answer for what you did to the Princess!” shouted the troop commander, who had managed to draw near him.
The palace troop commander possessed martial arts far superior to those of his subordinates, but even his abilities were still far beneath those of this extraordinary young man.
Wu Long moved as swiftly as lightning, expertly slipping away from every ambush and evading every attack, making his capture an exceedingly difficult task for the palace guards.
Wu Long—the young man’s name—still easily escaped the palace guards’ encirclement. His keen eye for opportunities and astonishing skill made the entire pursuit feel utterly futile.
“I can’t take responsibility, Uncle! We did all of that willingly, so don’t blame me alone!” Wu Long shouted while continuing to sprint away from the palace troops. “I didn’t do anything wrong, Uncle! So let me go!”
Wu Long’s words showed that he knew the palace troop commander well. But why were the palace troops chasing him and trying to capture him? Was everything he had done connected to the ‘Princess’ mentioned by the commander—who was likely the Emperor’s daughter?
Tap!
Tap!
Tap!
Wu Long ran swiftly through every part of the Heavenly Nirvana palace, with the palace troops following close behind and continuing their pursuit despite achieving nothing. Their fear of the Emperor outweighed the exhaustion they suffered while chasing Wu Long.
They could not shorten the distance between them even slightly. Instead, the gap only grew wider.
Dozens more troops blocked Wu Long’s path, leaving him no room to escape. This encirclement by the palace troops might be the end of Wu Long’s flight through the Heavenly Nirvana palace. But was that really how it would end?
