Wu Long seemed unlikely to fulfill his ambition of returning to Heavenly Nirvana and restoring his reputation. His father forbade him from enrolling in the Sun and Moon Sect because he would never be able to become a Martial Warrior. Wu Long did not even remember anything about his past life in Heavenly Nirvana.
Fortunately for Wu Long, his mother still supported him, preventing his father from forbidding him to enroll in the Sun and Moon Sect.
"Do you want our son to die in the Sun and Moon Sect? His body can't handle inner energy—he can't even handle external energy! What do you expect from him?" Wu Long's father grumbled at his wife, who stubbornly insisted on using their savings to pay for Wu Long's enrollment in the Sun and Moon Sect.
"I still believe Wu Long won't disappoint us! Trust me, my husband!" Wu Long's mother said, trying to convince his father.
The Sun and Moon Sect was located atop cool, pleasant mountains within the territory of Rembulan Village.
Every year, the Sun and Moon Sect opened enrollment to children between the ages of ten and fifteen, allowing them to register as disciples until they graduated and were employed by the sect.
Every child could enter the sect without undergoing any selection process, as long as they could pay the fee demanded by the Sun and Moon Sect.
The residents of Rembulan Village, most of whom lived below the poverty line, desperately hoped to change their fortunes by sending their children to train at the sect, even though the enrollment fee was quite expensive for them.
Wu Long was among hundreds of young children making their way toward the mountains to enroll in the Sun and Moon Sect.
His mother accompanied him to the sect, while his father was busy working—or perhaps simply didn't support Wu Long's enrollment. In his father's eyes, Wu Long was more useful helping him in the fields than wasting time learning martial arts at the sect.
"Name?" the registration officer asked.
"WU LONG!" Wu Long shouted loudly and enthusiastically.
"Have you prepared all the required fees?" the registration officer asked again.
"Yes, sir!" Wu Long's mother replied as she handed over the fee requested by the registration department.
After paying the enrollment fee, Wu Long officially entered the Sun and Moon Sect.
"Don't disappoint your mother, all right, son?" his mother said before leaving him behind.
Wu Long's stride felt imposing as he walked through the Sun and Moon Sect. Although his clothes failed to cover his thin body, Wu Long's strong determination gave him the confidence to walk inside alongside the other disciples entering the sect.
"Hey, bum!"
Wu Long had only just begun walking confidently when an inappropriate call was directed at him.
The boy turned around and saw a nobleman's son surrounded by several youths, pointing at him.
"Me?" he asked, his face filled with confusion.
"Yes... you! Who else is a bum here besides you?" the noble boy replied with a contemptuous, arrogant expression.
"My name is Wu Long, and I'm not a bum!" he shouted fearlessly.
"Hahaha... Look, everyone! He still won't admit he's a bum? His clothes are even dirtier than the mop in my house!" the noble boy said, continuing to insult Wu Long.
Several youths who had been standing near the noble boy began approaching Wu Long. "Hurry up and kneel down and kiss the Young Master's feet!" they threatened.
Wu Long only stared at them in confusion. "Why should I kiss his feet?" he asked.
"Tch! You're a bum, don't you know that? Bums have to kiss nobles' feet!" the noble boy cried cruelly.
"Who's a bum? Just because I dress poorly doesn't mean I'm a bum! I paid the same enrollment fee as you, so I'm not a bum!" Wu Long said furiously.
"If you won't kneel, we'll force you to kneel before the Young Master!" one of the noble boy's lackeys said as he shoved Wu Long to the floor.
Just as they were about to grab Wu Long by the hair and force him to kiss the noble boy's feet, a melodious yet firm female voice stopped them.
"Stop! What do you think you're doing?" the beautiful voice demanded.
A short while later, a beautiful girl appeared. She was the same age as Wu Long, but she already seemed more mature than the others.
Wu Long tried to step toward the girl, but instead he tripped and fell directly onto her. Reflexively, both his hands landed on the beautiful girl's chest, and the two of them fell to the floor with Wu Long on top of her.
"I'm sorry!" Wu Long said as he tried to get up. But before he could stand upright, a punch struck him in the body.
Thud!
Wu Long felt the noble boy's powerful punch slam into his body.
"You filthy bum! How dare you touch the Princess!" he shouted, relentlessly beating Wu Long.
"Lie Wei... that's enough! He touched me by accident!" shouted Shun Ming, a ten-year-old girl whom the boy dressed like a noble called Princess.
"It can't be overlooked, Princess! This poor boy had the nerve to touch you!" Lie Wei said, continuing to beat Wu Long, who could only cross both arms to shield his face from the blows.
