The day Lie Wei had been waiting for finally arrived. After two long years of training inside Perguruan Matahari dan Rembulan, all the disciples were given the entire day off to explore the beautiful mountains surrounding the sect.
Wu Long had no friends in Perguruan Matahari dan Rembulan besides Shun Ming, so he decided to stay inside the sect. Shun Ming had gone with her father to Kota Mentari, which was not far from Desa Rembulan. For the first time since arriving at Perguruan Matahari dan Rembulan, Wu Long felt lonely. Shun Ming usually visited him to cheer him on.
Lie Wei and his lackeys began putting their plan into action by visiting Wu Long, but they could not do anything while he was inside the sect because the rules of Perguruan Matahari dan Rembulan were extremely strict. Anyone who committed violence, intimidation, or torture against another disciple inside the sect would be sent home and expelled from Perguruan Matahari dan Rembulan forever.
Lie Wei and Wu Long also lived in different pavilions, so Lie Wei could not see Wu Long after training ended. Disciples were forbidden from leaving the pavilions where they stayed once training was over.
This was the moment Lie Wei had been waiting for—the chance to drive Wu Long out of Perguruan Matahari dan Rembulan forever.
“Wu Long!” Lie Wei greeted him warmly with a smile when he saw the young man sitting alone on the porch of the training hall.
Of course, Wu Long looked at him in confusion and surprise. This young man had always looked at him with disdain during training and whenever Shun Ming visited him... and now he was acting friendly? Wu Long felt suspicious.
“What do you want?” Wu Long asked, remaining cautious.
“I want to apologize for treating you rudely when you first entered Perguruan Matahari dan Rembulan. I want to make it up to you and invite you to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery around the sect,” Lie Wei said.
Wu Long still eyed Lie Wei and his group suspiciously, but they were all smiling at him and appeared sincere. His vigilance faded, and he agreed to follow them. The loneliness weighing on him while he stayed inside the sect was another reason he went along with Lie Wei.
He did not realize that Lie Wei was setting a trap for him.
“You really are an idiot, Bum! Don’t you know that all the sect’s disciples are forbidden from going up this mountain because a thick fog will soon cover the entire range? Everyone else went to Kota Mentari with the sect’s senior disciples. That’s what you get for always isolating yourself!”
Lie Wei’s true nature resurfaced once they reached the mountainside. Wu Long stood on high ground, but behind him was a deep ravine. In the distance, he saw thick fog and black clouds that would soon cover the mountains.
“In that case, I’ll just go back!” Wu Long said, trying to get past Lie Wei and his group.
“Not so fast, you filthy bastard! You’ve humiliated me for two whole years in Perguruan Matahari dan Rembulan! You’re going to pay for it today!” Lie Wei shouted as he blocked Wu Long’s path.
“Move!” Wu Long yelled fearlessly.
Thud!
Lie Wei threw a heavy punch just as Wu Long tried to get past him.
“You’re never going back to Perguruan Matahari dan Rembulan, Bum! Shun Ming is my friend and will always be my friend—not yours, you useless pauper!”
Wu Long wiped a little blood from his lips. “So that’s why you’re beating me and trying to get rid of me today? All for the sake of a girl you can’t have?”
Thud!
A flurry of punches slammed into Wu Long’s body, knocking him down and sending him dangerously close to the edge of the ravine.
“Kneel and beg for my forgiveness, then leave Perguruan Matahari dan Rembulan forever, and I’ll spare your life!” Lie Wei shouted, standing proudly over Wu Long’s battered body.
“No way! I’m staying in Perguruan Matahari dan Rembulan! My parents sacrificed everything for me! I have to become a powerful Martial Warrior so I can help them!”
Wu Long still refused to yield. He glared defiantly at Lie Wei, sending the noble heir into a furious rage.
“Then die!” Lie Wei shouted, kicking Wu Long’s body with all his strength and sending him tumbling into the deep ravine. His anger had made him stop caring about Wu Long’s life. To Lie Wei, Wu Long’s death would bring him even closer to Shun Ming.
Aaaaaaagh!
The only sound was Wu Long’s scream as he fell. Then silence returned, as if nothing had happened.
Lie Wei walked away without the slightest trace of remorse, accompanied by his lackeys, whom he threatened to keep quiet if they did not want trouble.
Wu Long’s body struck the branches of a tree growing along the edge of the ravine’s cliff, then was flung from one branch to another until he lost consciousness.
When his eyes finally began to open, he found himself lying on a shiny green stone. Judging from his surroundings, he was inside a fairly large cave.
“Where am I?” Wu Long wondered, utterly confused. As far as he could remember, the Samanera who hated him—especially Lie Wei—had caused his body to fall into the ravine. “Am I dead?”
