Arya took a document Hanif had prepared and placed it in front of Sarena.
“My wife, Luna, and I want to have a biological child with our own genetics, but my wife can’t carry a pregnancy because of a medical condition.”
Arya leaned forward slightly. “I’m looking for a woman willing to become a surrogate mother. Someone responsible—and most importantly, someone with urgent financial needs, so she’ll comply with this agreement.”
Arya pointed to the middle section of the document.
“This is a one-year contract. For the entire year, you’ll be under the care of the best medical professionals. You’ll have to leave behind the life you’re living now. Think of it as working for me. And in return…”
Arya drew a breath, waiting for Sarena’s reaction. The girl fell silent, her eyes moving back and forth between Arya and the document in front of her.
“For your services, I’m offering a contract fee of five hundred million rupiah. That’s on top of your living expenses and the premium medical benefits you’ll receive.”
The figure of five hundred million instantly made Sarena’s head spin. She wanted to respond, but her mouth felt stiff. How could she speak in front of the CEO of a company this large?
The number hung in the air, spinning through Sarena’s mind—enough to pay off her family’s debts and continue her education.
Arya studied Sarena’s back, covered by a simple white shirt. She possessed a quiet beauty, with warm golden-brown skin and straight, shoulder-length hair tied neatly in a ponytail. Her petite, sweet face, with its pointed chin and thin lips, concealed a powerful allure—especially when her smile brought out a pair of dimples.
That physical contrast only strengthened Arya’s conviction. Sarena Jelita was the perfect choice. Her vulnerability guaranteed that she would accept an offer worth five hundred million rupiah.
The man then took a pen from his pocket along with two small K-VESTA memo sheets.
“Take these. Write down your number. Think it over carefully. I’m giving you three days.”
Arya stared deeply into her eyes. “This is a private and highly confidential matter involving the Jayendra family. Don’t share this offer with anyone, not even your closest friends or family. If this offer gets leaked and you’re found responsible, there will be consequences you’ll have to bear.”
Sarena trembled in her chair. She took the pen, her hand difficult to control. In silence, she wrote her phone number on the small memo sheet and handed it back to Arya.
For a moment, Arya also wrote something on the other sheet of paper, then held it out to Sarena. “Here’s my personal number. You can reach me at that number twenty-four hours a day, whenever it’s convenient for you,” he said.
“I’ll be waiting to hear from you, Miss Sarena. Think about your future. Think about what five hundred million could do for the life you’re living now,” he said coldly. “We’re done. You may leave,” he continued.
Sarena immediately rose from her chair, her legs feeling stiff. She gave a stiff nod and walked out of the room, carrying the promise of hundreds of millions of rupiah and the burden of a secret she had received from the CEO of a major company.
Arya watched her leave, a victorious smile curling across his lips. He was absolutely certain the girl would come back.
“Three days,” he whispered. He knew a ticket to freedom that valuable would be too difficult for someone like Sarena to refuse. All he had to do was wait.
