Ouditors is a neutral planet where all the races can meet under the laws of the racial alliance. The Great City of Ozgur is the center of trade and the headquarters of the Racial Alliance.
On a high cliff, a young man lay back lazily after a long and exhausting journey.
"Hahhhh......." "I want a vacation.... Healing on a beautiful, peaceful planet sounds perfect. Maybe an elven planet or a merfolk planet. The women there are really beautiful, heheh... but I'm already sick of elven food...."
As he lounged there, the young man calmly watched the evening sky and slowly began to drift off to sleep. . . .
"Uhhh.... This dream again."
A white-haired man approached several children who looked like they belonged to the Human, Elven, Dwarven, Beastfolk, Dragonkin, Giant, and Fairy races.
He seemed to be their teacher. But they all looked sad.... Who exactly was this man...? He looked so familiar, as if something inside me felt a deep sorrow and longing whenever I saw him.
"This will help you protect the new sanctuary for this planet's living creatures. Unlike me, protect the peace so something like this never happens again."
The man handed them something. I didn't know what it was—I couldn't see it clearly, as though something was trying to hide it from me.
????: "But, Master... what about you?"
A Beastfolk boy gazed sadly at the man. All the other children looked like they were about to cry, too.
"Hahaha, I'm already old enough. I've lived long enough to see everything in this world. Now it's your turn to open a new path for every race."
Smiling as he stroked each child's hair, he said something, but I couldn't hear him clearly.
"Brooooo...."
A young man's shout woke me up. Damn it, why does this always happen? That man was just about to say something. It always happens like this. Is this dream about the future or the past? I don't really understand anything that's happening to me. Every time that man is about to tell me something, I always wake up, as if something is preventing me from finding out.
"Bro Zen, you're awake. The rendang sandwiches are gone. All that's left are eggplant sandwiches."
A child ran over to the young man named Zen, who had curly white hair and a fairly unimpressive build.
------Zenevan Kyler, Member of the Kaynan Caravan------ ------Power: Super strength??------
"Hahhh.... You interrupted my rest, and now...... why does it have to be eggplant? Don't they have anything with meat? HUH? Has this planet been invaded by Elves?"
I slowly got up and sat down, glaring irritably at the boy like someone whose special fried chicken had been snatched away and eaten right in front of him.
With a sour, slightly annoyed expression, I said, "Erhan, are you trying to turn me into a vegetarian Elf? I've had enough. I ate every vegetable in sight when we stopped at that damn elven planet."
"But yesterday at the bar, you ate an eggplant sandwich like you loved it."
The yellow-haired boy, whose bowl-cut hair made him look completely ridiculous, handed me the eggplant sandwich with an innocent grin.
------Erhan, the youngest member of the Kaynan Caravan------ ------Power: Tier 1 magic (most skilled with wind magic)------
"That's because the captain forced me to eat it. Ughhh....... Just thinking about it makes me nauseous."
I remembered what had happened the previous night at a bar while the caravan was resting after a long journey from the planet Jordhelm.
"Hey, Zen. Because of you, we almost lost something valuable, so you don't get to eat meat today," said a middle-aged man with brown hair and a sparse beard. He was Captain Kaynan, the owner of the Kaynan Caravan.
------Edric Kaynan, owner of the Kaynan Caravan------ ------Power: Skilled with magic and the sword------
"How was I supposed to know they were going to steal my bag? It's my private business," I said while eating the eggplant sandwich because I was already starving.
"Ugh... I'm going to throw up from all these vegetables."
I fought back the nausea. Bread and eggplant really didn't agree with me.
"This is all your fault, damn it."
"What kind of lunatic brings roast meat when signing a contract with Elves?" Captain Kaynan smacked me hard on the head.
"Ow, that hurts, you damn old man!"
"HUH.... WANT IT TO HURT MORE? HAHHH?"
The old man stretched his hand and prepared to hit me again. Our other companions simply watched and laughed at our antics. Instead of helping, the bastards just laughed.
"NO.... NO.... I'm sorry, Captain!"
Without another word, the captain delivered his loving punch. All I could do was resign myself to the captain's scolding and beatings.... Hmph, damn Elves.
"Huhh... Thank goodness there wasn't any trouble with the contract. If there had been, I'd have sent you on a long-term mission. HAHAHAHAHA!"
After he finished teaching me a lesson, he joined our other companions and enjoyed some meat that looked delicious enough to make my mouth water. Meanwhile, all I had was an eggplant sandwich. Hah. My hatred of Elves was growing stronger by the minute.
"Huh... I want to eat a whole lot of meat sandwiches.... Didn't you buy any fried chicken or something else with meat?"
As I bit into the eggplant sandwich, I hoped the kid would show a little sympathy for his big brother, who desperately wanted meat after eating vegetables nonstop.
"Huh... I thought you didn't want any, so I bought fried chicken for myself and ate it all."
Hearing that, I brought both fists down on his head.
"Ow, that hurts, bro.... Sorry! I'll buy some later, I promise."
"If the fried-chicken line had been normal, I'd have bought it myself... Huh."
As we ate this sorrowful sandwich, we gazed at the city. The cool breeze made the place incredibly comfortable and soon made me sleepy again. Lying back and watching the clouds in the bright sky only made me drowsier.
"Hmm, is it going to rain? There's a black cloud."
"Oh, that? It's probably because of a fire at the Races Oversight Office," Erhan replied casually while eating his eggplant sandwich as if it were no big deal.
"Huh? Why are you only telling me now, you stupid brat? Rin and the captain went there to take care of our travel papers!" I hurriedly got up and dragged the boy with me toward the burning Races Oversight Office.
"Huh? Why didn't you tell me they went there?" Erhan began running with a panicked look on his face, though he was still chewing that damn sandwich.
"You little bastard! That's why you shouldn't chew while sleeping during meetings! AHHHH!"
I smacked Erhan on the head as we ran, my face twisted in annoyance.
"Ow! What was that for, bro?"
"Use your wind magic, you idiot, so we can get there faster!" This kid was seriously slow to read the situation. I felt like beating him senseless.
"But the captain and Rin are strong, too. They'll be fine, right?" Erhan replied, thinking that the captain and Rin would be all right.
Well, it wasn't exactly a wrong way to think. But we still had to stay cautious, because bad days aren't on the calendar. They can come at any time.
"Enough with your stupid thoughts. Hurry up and use your magic!" I ordered him to use a wind buff spell to increase our running speed without tiring us out.
"Grigora Wind."
Erhan chanted the spell, accelerating our steps. In an instant, we had entered the city of Ozgur.
