We finally returned to where Anisa was. She looked bored, keeping her head down until we arrived.
“Anisa.”
Anisa immediately lifted her head happily when she heard Jevan’s voice. But her happy expression didn’t last long. The moment she saw me, she pouted. “Let’s go home,” I said.
She lowered her head and looked at her feet. “I can’t walk.”
Anisa looked back and forth between Jevan and Jega. I realized she was very obviously signaling for Jevan and Jega to pay attention to her. She even acted as if I wasn’t here. She’d only been looking at her two older brothers the whole time. What was I, anyway? Just a decoration standing here.
Jevan and Jega looked at me instead. I stared back at them in confusion. Anisa had asked them for help, so why were they looking at me? “What? Is something wrong?”
After a few seconds, I finally realized what their looks meant. “I’ll carry her, then.”
I walked over to Anisa. She immediately looked disappointed. Good grief, it was as if I were the only evil one here. I took her hand and supported her so she could stand. She clearly wasn’t happy about it, but there was nothing she could do.
We walked to the car. Jega sat in the passenger seat beside Jevan, who was in the driver’s seat. Anisa and I sat together in the back. Throughout the ride home, Anisa kept looking out the window without even glancing at me. I knew she had to be in a terrible mood because her plans had kept failing one after another.
That’s why you shouldn’t be a bad person. You’ll end up suffering the consequences. I looked out the window beside me as well. When we arrived home, several members of the household staff were already waiting outside my room.
“We were assigned to help you get ready, Miss,” said a servant who looked older than the others.
“All right,” I replied.
Jevan and Jega also went to their respective rooms. As for Anisa, when we arrived, she refused to let me hold her and immediately ordered two members of the household staff to help her to her room.
When we entered my room, they began taking out all their supplies. Everything I needed to get ready: makeup, styling tools and hair accessories, and several perfumes for me to choose from. My dress wasn’t finished yet, so they would do my makeup and hair first. I took a quick shower. Afterward, two people worked on my makeup while three worked on my hair.
They were extremely professional. I was actually afraid to watch them, since it seemed very possible they would run into one another with so many people working on me at once. Luckily, they managed to avoid each other. I was impressed by how quickly and neatly they worked. It seemed that every member of the household staff had their own special area of expertise.
“What kind of makeup would you like, Miss?”
“Something natural-looking.”
Actually, I didn’t have any makeup preferences because I had never worn makeup before—not even enough to imagine what it would be like. So I had no idea what my face would look like with makeup on. I decided to leave it to the experts. I trusted them to find the makeup style that suited me best.
“Miss, would you like your hair down or up?”
“Down.”
My hair was shoulder-length, so I thought it would look better down than tied up. They curled my hair with a styling tool until it formed beautiful, loose waves. The makeup they applied looked natural. I really loved the way they had done my makeup and hair.
