The Revenge Bride
Episode 5
Jason's mother had been furious since early morning.
She came straight from the kitchen to Jason's room.
Mom: Jason, can I ask you something?
Jason: Sure, Mom. Ask away.
Mom: When are you getting married?
Jason looked at her and fell silent.
Mom: It's been five years since you and Elena got engaged. You still haven't set a wedding date. What exactly are you planning to do?
Jason: Mom, I do want to get married.
Mom: Then do it! You won't find another girl like Elena. She's been waiting for you all this time, and you keep putting it off.
Jason: Fine, Mom. We'll do it soon.
Mom: Not soon. Set a date.
Before Jason could say anything, Benjamin appeared at the door.
Benjamin: Auntie's right.
Jason turned around.
Jason: Hey! When did you get here?
Benjamin came inside, and the two of them hugged like brothers.
Benjamin was Elena's older brother and Jason's childhood friend. Their families had known each other for so many years that Jason practically seemed like part of the Rosewood family.
Jason: When did you leave Naples?
Benjamin: This morning. I thought I'd come straight over to see you guys.
Then he looked at Jason and said—
Benjamin: And listen, get the final wedding date set already.
Jason: Why?
Benjamin: Because this time I want to go to Naples without being rushed. Every time, all my plans get ruined because of your wedding.
Jason laughed.
Jason: Fine, bro. This time, we'll set the date for sure.
Benjamin: Don't just say it. Actually do it.
Jason: Yes, sir. I will.
Benjamin smiled.
Little did he know that his best friend was standing right in front of him while hiding something far more serious.
A little while later, Jason left the house.
He looked troubled.
Benjamin watched him leave and followed him outside.
Benjamin: Jason!
Jason stopped.
Benjamin: What's wrong? You've seemed worried since this morning.
Jason: Nothing.
Benjamin: It looks like something else to me.
Jason avoided his gaze.
The truth was, he had met a girl a short while earlier.
She hadn't come alone. Four boys had accompanied her.
The girl had angrily told Jason—
Girl: Jason, enough is enough. You're going to marry me.
Jason: I told you, don't do this right now.
Girl: Why? Because you're going to marry Elena?
Jason fell silent.
Girl: Listen carefully. I'm carrying your child. If you don't marry me, I'll tell everyone.
The color drained from Jason's face.
Jason: Keep your voice down.
Girl: Why? Are you scared?
The four boys who had come with her stepped forward.
Girl: And if you refuse to marry me, these four won't let you leave alive.
Jason was terrified.
He had somehow managed to get away from there.
Now Benjamin was standing in front of him, demanding answers.
Benjamin: Come on, tell me. What happened?
Jason quickly came up with a lie.
Jason: It's nothing. Just a little trouble.
Benjamin: What kind of trouble?
Jason: You know how sometimes you can't handle the car after a few drinks.
Benjamin glared at him.
Benjamin: Then why do you drive?
Jason: I made a mistake.
Benjamin: What did you do?
Jason: I crashed the car.
Benjamin: And?
Jason: The other party is demanding money now.
Benjamin: How much?
Jason remained silent.
Benjamin: Jason, how much?
Jason: It's a lot of money. I don't have it right now.
Benjamin let out a deep sigh.
Benjamin: Fine. I'll pay it.
Jason immediately looked at him.
Jason: Really?
Benjamin: Yes. But don't drive after drinking again.
Jason: I won't.
Jason breathed a sigh of relief.
Benjamin had no idea that the trouble he was helping his friend with was nothing compared to the real problem.
The next morning was Elena's wedding.
The entire Rosewood family home was filled with joy.
Elena's sisters were getting her ready. Annie kept coming into the room to look at her.
Annie: Sis, you look so beautiful today.
Elena smiled.
Elena: Really?
Annie: Yes. Just like a fairy.
Elena looked at herself in the mirror.
The day she had been waiting for over the past five years had finally arrived.
Even now, she firmly believed that Jason was her first and last love.
Meanwhile, Alexander had been happy since early morning too.
He took his medication on time, ate breakfast, and began getting ready.
It had been a long time since so much happiness had appeared on his face.
He took out his finest clothes.
He wore a gold-colored coat over a white sherwani.
He gave himself a faint smile when he saw his reflection in the mirror.
He looked incredibly handsome today.
But his clothes weren't the reason for his happiness.
His mind was filled with thoughts of Elena.
He had already had a bag placed on Table 5 at Hotel Silver.
It contained ten crore rupees.
He had prepared everything.
Since the day before, he had even had the entire city fully decorated.
He felt that the happiness he had waited years for was finally about to enter his life.
He got into his car and headed toward the church.
Meanwhile, Jason deliberately sent Benjamin out on an errand.
Jason: Benjamin, can you do something for me?
Benjamin: What is it?
Jason: I need to pick up a special set of flowers from Kaisavar. Can you get it?
Benjamin: Right now?
Jason: Yes, bro. It's really important.
Benjamin checked the time.
Benjamin: Fine. I'll get it.
Jason: Just come back quickly.
Benjamin drove away.
Little did he know that Jason had deliberately sent him far away.
A little while later, the guests began arriving at the church.
Both families were there.
The church was decorated with flowers.
Elena entered in a white wedding dress.
Her eyes fell on Jason standing in front of her.
Jason was smiling.
Elena smiled too.
She slowly walked over and stood beside him.
The priest began the wedding ceremony.
The two of them accepted each other as husband and wife.
Now it was time to exchange rings.
Jason picked up the ring.
He was just about to slip it onto Elena's finger when Alexander, seated in the back of the church, suddenly began to feel dizzy.
He closed his eyes.
Everything seemed to spin.
He tried to get up from his chair.
Alexander: Elena...
His voice was barely audible.
The next moment, his body staggered.
He was about to fall straight toward Elena.
Without thinking, Elena stepped forward and caught him.
Elena: Alexander!
The entire church suddenly fell silent.
The ring stopped in Jason's hand.
He looked ahead.
The girl he was about to make his wife in just a few minutes...
That same girl was now standing there, holding another man in her arms.
And Alexander's eyes were closed.
But why had Alexander suddenly become dizzy?
And had he really fallen ill... or was there a secret behind this wedding that had yet to come to light?
The End.
