The strange creature that had just made a sharp dive was still perched on the window. It was fairly large, perhaps about the size of a six-year-old child. The creature had four legs, each equipped with sharp claws. Its skin looked slightly wrinkled, but it was thick and seemed extremely tough to the touch.
The most shocking thing was its face, which looked exactly like a human face.
The entire class shuddered in horror at the sight of the creature. They rushed toward the exit, but for some reason, the door suddenly jammed. Their hysterical screams echoed louder and louder, making Raya click his tongue before casually tossing away his cigarette butt.
The creature glared at Rajawali, who was still sitting on the floor. Sensing that something was wrong, Asa reflexively moved and stood directly in front of Rajawali, blocking his view of the creature.
Apparently, the creature did not like that. It flapped its wings as if preparing to fly at Asa and gouge out his eyes, which stared back without fear. Asa remained standing firm. But just as the creature truly moved toward him, the classroom door was suddenly kicked in from outside. Bram and Haidar appeared, their faces filled with shock.
With lightning speed, Bram ran over and threw the nearest bench at the creature. The bench flew out the window and slammed into the strange creature. A terrifying screech immediately rang out.
Bram was breathing heavily. After making sure the creature had fallen below, he turned around. Haidar's eyes widened in horror.
"Your arm, Bram."
Bram turned and saw three claw marks stretching along his arm. He merely clicked his tongue, then roughly wiped away the blood with the gym shirt stored in his desk.
"It's nothing. Just a scratch."
Asa snapped out of his daze and immediately reached out to help Rajawali stand. Saka looked terrified, his horse-like face appearing even more ridiculous.
"This has to be a joke. I'm still dreaming. I have to be."
Rajawali's eyebrows drew sharply together.
"Bram's hurt like that, and you can still say this is a dream?"
Saka clenched his jaw.
"Just shut up, asshole. We... We have to get out of here, as fast as possible—"
"It's pointless."
Bram's next words made Saka and the others stare at him in horror.
"What do you mean, it's pointless?"
Bram sighed, then sat down on a bench in frustration.
"It's worse outside."
"What do you mean, worse outside?!" Saka hissed, fear plainly visible on his face.
Haidar sighed.
"Bram and I didn't make it to the cafeteria. The whole corridor was a complete mess. People were running everywhere. They said there was a creature that looked like a zombie. I don't know."
The entire class went pale.
Already terrified, Saka ignored Haidar's words and chose to approach the door. But before he could reach it, a voice came from the speaker at the front of the classroom.
"Hello. Testing, testing, testing."
The principal's voice sounded stiff.
"All students are requested to remain in their respective classrooms. Close all doors and windows. No one is to leave until further instructions are issued by the school. An uncontrollable strange creature has bitten a female student, and it is currently still wandering around inside the school. Please remain calm. The school will contact the authorities to resolve this matter. Thank you."
Several students who heard the announcement immediately sank to the floor. They felt that their lives might end at any moment.
Saka, still standing in front of the door, could only stand there stiffly in silence. Stefani tightened the knot of the jacket wrapped around her stomach. She then walked over and slammed the door shut.
"Are you all just going to sit there? Didn't you hear what they told us to do? Or do you want to die first?"
Hearing Stefani's cold words, the other students hurried to close the windows that were still open.
Saka turned around and returned to his seat. His face still looked shaken.
Bela bit her fingernails in fear.
