"Not the Lin Qingyan you know?" Qingyan curled her lips into a mocking smirk. "I don't give a damn!"
Her gaze was now fixed entirely on Consort Yan. Whenever Qingyan had read the novel on her tablet, her blood had boiled every time she came across a scene where this scheming woman poisoned her mother and tormented the original owner of the body. Back then, all she could do was stare at the screen and swallow her anger. But now? That vicious woman was standing alive and well right in front of her, wearing an unbearably saintly expression.
All the exasperation and vengeance that had piled up in her chest exploded in an instant.
"Get over here, you snake!"
Without warning, Qingyan lunged forward. She moved so quickly and wildly that everyone in the room stared in disbelief.
RRRIP!
"AAAGHHH!" Consort Yan shrieked hysterically as Qingyan's fingers clamped around her golden hair ornament and yanked her tied-up hair with all her strength.
"Take that! That's for the poison you've been giving me every week!" Qingyan shouted, armed with blazing fury. She dragged Consort Yan's head downward, then pinched the woman's arm without mercy. "That's for framing the original owner's mother and causing her death! And this is for all the vile things you did in the novel!"
"Prime Minister! Help me! Aaagh, my hair! Let go!" Consort Yan screamed like a pig in a pen. Her hair ornaments came loose and scattered across the floor, while her neatly arranged clothes were instantly torn and crumpled under Qingyan's chaotic, berserk assault.
The room turned into a stage of utter chaos. The servants and guards standing outside the door crowded together to watch, their mouths hanging open. The cast-off princess who usually didn't even dare look anyone in the eye while being ordered to stand around was now beating the Prime Minister's favorite consort until she writhed helplessly!
"What are you waiting for?! Open your eyes!" Prime Minister Lin screamed hysterically, his face deathly pale as he watched his consort get pummeled. "Separate them! Hurry, separate them!"
Several maids and guards rushed in and tried to pull Qingyan away. But who knew where she had found such strength? The fury in her soul and the adrenaline surging through her made her as strong as a raging bull. The two servants gripping her arms were instead flung away.
"Stay out of this!" Qingyan snapped as she yanked Consort Yan's hair even harder, forcing the woman downward while she wailed and sobbed.
Only after venting all her pent-up anger—and making sure Consort Yan's face was covered in claw marks, her hair was tangled like a straw monster's, and her luxurious clothes were completely ruined—did Qingyan finally release her grip with a rough shove.
THUD!
Consort Yan collapsed onto the wooden floor, panting as she clutched her dizzy head and wiped away tears that were now genuinely caused by pain.
"My lord... my lord..." Consort Yan crawled over and clung to Prime Minister Lin's legs, whining hysterically in a hoarse voice. "Look... she's gone mad! She tried to kill me! Punish her, my lord! Behead her or whip her to death!"
Prime Minister Lin trembled violently with rage. He pointed at Qingyan, who now stood casually adjusting the sleeve that had slipped slightly down her arm.
Strangely, there wasn't the slightest trace of regret or fear on Qingyan's face. Instead, she planted her hands on her hips, raised one eyebrow, and stared at her father with an openly challenging, cocky air.
"What?" Qingyan challenged casually, looking her father up and down. "You want to punish me? Go ahead! Want to whip me? Lock me up? Do it! You think I'm scared?"
"You're insane! You've really gone insane!" Prime Minister Lin roared, the veins in his neck bulging. "Guards! Take this uncivilized woman to the back storeroom! Lock her up there without food or water until she realizes her crime!"
Two burly guards immediately stepped forward and tried to seize Qingyan by both arms and drag her away.
"Hey! Let go! Don't put your hands on me!" Qingyan roughly slapped their hands away, her gaze sharp. "There's no need to drag me. I have my own feet! It's just the storeroom, right? Walk!"
Without waiting to be escorted, Qingyan swished her dress and strode ahead of the guards toward the door, leaving Prime Minister Lin still gaping and Consort Yan wailing on the floor.
As she walked casually with the two guards following behind her, Qingyan gazed at the borderlands' night sky and grumbled to herself in irritation.
"What a useless prime minister. Why am I only being punished by getting locked in a storeroom? Why didn't he just order the guards to execute me? If I die here, maybe I'll wake right up back in my apartment bedroom! Ugh... instead, I'm being forced to spend the night in some dilapidated storeroom!"
