Chapter 5: Chapter 5 — The Knight Who Laughed Too Much

🔒 This chapter is locked · 20 Quills

Lady Elena Rosenthal bears a mark on her back that could determine the fate of an empire, and no one can know. Duke Kael von Erenhart feels nothing. No joy, no sorrow, no fear. An ancient curse stole all his emotions when he was a child. He rules with cold logic, speaks only when necessary, and is feared by everyone. Until a small celestial cupid, on a routine mission, misses the target with his arrow. After that accident, something impossible begins to happen: near Elena, Kael feels things he cannot explain. A warmth with no source.
