Rosaline looked incredibly beautiful to Ron, Adrian's colleague. He would definitely have approached her if she weren't Adrian's woman. His eyes couldn't tear themselves away from the red-haired girl's lovely face, even as his hands lowered the mattress to the floor.
Someone was sleeping on the bed. Golden hair spilled across the pillow, framing pale skin and long, delicate eyelashes. Ron couldn't say a word. She looked like a sleeping princess with heavenly beauty.
"Hey, who else is that?" he whispered, pointing toward the bed as he asked Adrian.
"None of your business!" Adrian snapped irritably. "Now get out, and thanks for helping," Adrian continued, pushing Ron out of his room.
"At least tell me her name!"
He kept glancing toward the bed before finally leaving Adrian's room for good.
A moment later, no more sounds could be heard from outside. Adrian prepared the bed for himself and Rosaline.
"Who was that?" Rosaline asked.
"Just a colleague from here. Ignore him," Adrian replied.
"We can't. He saw Prince Yuasa, I..." Rosaline trailed off, hesitant to voice her suspicions.
Adrian didn't understand why Rosaline looked so anxious.
Not long afterward, a faint rumbling sound echoed through the room. Adrian looked at the window, which showed clear weather with no sign of rain.
"That was my stomach," Rosaline whispered. She lowered her head in embarrassment.
"I'll get us some dinner. Just wait here," Adrian offered.
He left and continued thinking about how worried Rosaline had looked. "What could be making her so anxious?" Adrian muttered.
Adrian's footsteps felt strange. He heard another set of footsteps each time his own touched the floor. He sensed an unusual presence. Their movements were fast, and their camouflage was expertly done. Just because they couldn't be seen didn't mean they couldn't be sensed. He crept along and caught a glimpse of a black shadow leaping across the rooftops.
"Intruders!" Adrian shouted, sounding the alarm to warn everyone. Adrian quickly returned to his room, worried about Rosaline and Prince Yuasa.
"Rosaline!" Adrian shouted as he opened the door and saw three masked figures in black attacking Rosaline, while two others carried Prince Yuasa away.
"Adrian!" Rosaline cried out, and all five black-clad figures turned toward him.
Adrian drew his greatsword. The two men attacking Rosaline immediately moved away.
"Hurry and take him away!" ordered the black-clad man whose token bore a different mark. The two men carrying Prince Yuasa were already preparing to escape through the window. They broke the window frame and leaped onto the roof. The second floor had now become their escape route.
Rosaline spun around and kicked the man blocking her path. He fell near the two men who were now confronting Adrian.
"They're yours!" Rosaline shouted, shoving the man who had attacked her toward Adrian before chasing after the two men carrying Prince Yuasa away.
"Don't run!" Rosaline shouted. The sound of footsteps on the roof was enough to alert Ron that something was wrong up there.
The alarm Adrian had sounded put everyone at Redlion Arena on alert.
The fact that they had dared to enter Redlion territory meant these five were no amateurs. The two men in black stopped when someone blocked their path, while Rosaline was already preparing to attack from behind them. They realized they could no longer escape.
"Don't come any closer, or his life is over," threatened the black-clad man, pressing a dagger against Prince Yuasa's throat.
Rosaline tightened her grip on the dagger in her hand. Her mind raced as she tried to figure out how to get Prince Yuasa back safely.
"What do I do? What should I do?" Rosaline thought.
