The hospital bed rolled down the long hallway as several nurses hurried it, patient and all, toward the ER. A tall, broad-shouldered man wearing a black leather jacket over a T-shirt appeared to be helping push the bed. When he reached the ER doors ….
"Sir, you should take care of the paperwork first," a hospital nurse told him, making him stop. He was the one who had brought Raya to the hospital.
The man walked over to the registration desk. When the nurse asked about his relationship to the patient, he fell silent for several seconds.
"I ….”
"Are you her fiancé?" The nurse's question made the man raise an eyebrow and smile in confusion. "No, it's not like that … I ….”
"Please sign here," the nurse said, not giving him a chance to explain.
In the end, without saying much more, the man put pen to paper and wrote his name beneath the signature.
Rama Aditya. The name was clearly written on the hospital form as the person responsible for the patient who had just been brought into the ER.
When he finished, the nurse pulled the large hospital ledger back with a smile. "Thank you," she said.
Rama didn't know how to respond. All he could think about was Raya, still lying weakly inside. Especially when he remembered her fainting, covered in blood. The memory came back to him.
"That woman … I feel like I've seen her before. But … where?" Rama muttered to himself. He tried to remember.
A fleeting image surfaced in Rama's memory. News about the Hardinata family, especially Raya Hardinata, the eldest grandchild of a property tycoon who had been found at a nightclub selling herself.
"Oh my God, so that woman is the Hardinata family's eldest grandchild—the property tycoon?" Rama murmured to himself.
Without thinking twice, Rama immediately pulled his phone from his jacket pocket. He had saved the tycoon's number after getting it from a newspaper.
Rama pressed several numbers to call Hardinata. He held the phone to his ear and waited for several seconds. A buzzing sound came from the other end.
Rama waited and kept waiting until the buzzing turned into the voice of someone answering on the other end, but it was all for nothing. No one picked up or answered. Rama let out a long sigh.
"Why isn't anyone answering the phone?" Rama muttered to himself. He tried calling the Hardinata family again, but no one picked up.
Rama sighed deeply. He decided to go to the Hardinatas' house. Without another word, Rama finally decided to leave the hospital and head to the wealthy conglomerate owner's home.
A few minutes later, Rama arrived at the Hardinatas' house. However, Hardinata wasn't home. In the end, he was invited inside to meet Vivi.
"Thank you," Rama said with a friendly smile when Bi Inah set a warm drink on the table.
The plump maid withdrew as politely as possible.
Now Rama was sitting alone in the living room. He sat calmly, waiting to meet the homeowner. But ….
Something caught Rama's attention when he heard a harsh, half-whispered voice coming from the side of the house, near the pool.
"So she's still alive?"
