# New File
“Miss ….”
Ben’s expression suddenly changed, and he glanced slightly over his shoulder toward Aleandra.
“Stay behind me, ma’am,” he whispered.
Those words naturally made Aleandra feel uneasy. She wondered, “What’s going on?”
Of course, that question would not receive an answer.
The strange woman smiled faintly, but there was nothing friendly about it.
Aleandra could also feel the woman’s gaze move from her face to her messy hair, then slowly lower to the wedding dress still clinging to her body.
“Well,” the woman finally said. “So this is the new bride.”
Aleandra frowned.
The woman crossed her arms over her chest.
“I thought Issac would at least give you something else to wear.” Her lips curved slightly. “Or is it possible he’s simply not interested in you? It’s obvious he hasn’t touched you at all.”
“Miss Lucy.” Ben’s voice cut in sharply.
The woman named Lucy turned toward him. “And … where is Issac? You two didn’t even come home together.”
“Please watch what you say, Miss. Don’t meddle too much,” Ben said again in his flat tone.
Lucy gave a small smile. “I was just asking.”
“Thank you, but no one needs your questions.”
Aleandra looked at Ben. For the first time since meeting him, she heard a coldness in the man’s voice.
Ben then stepped slightly in front of Aleandra, as if deliberately blocking Lucy from continuing to stare at her.
“Mrs. Alea needs to rest.”
Lucy raised an eyebrow. “I’m just curious. Issac got married, but I wasn’t even told he was bringing his wife home tonight.”
“And that’s still none of your business,” Ben shot back. “Besides that, what brings you here?”
Lucy immediately chuckled, folding her arms as she leaned one shoulder against the doorway.
“Me? Hmm, I just wanted to welcome the newest member of the Limano Family. Am I not allowed to?”
Ben fell silent, but the sharpness in his gaze did not change.
Ben gestured to one of the servants waiting inside.
“Escort Mrs. Alea to her room.”
Aleandra did not move right away. She looked at Ben expectantly.
“What about Issac?”
Ben’s expression shifted for a moment.
“Sir will be along shortly. You can wait for him.”
That brief answer once again left her with a thousand questions. Aleandra knew Ben was still hiding something.
However, before she could press him further, Ben had already stepped aside to let her enter the mansion.
Slowly, Aleandra finally walked past Lucy.
But as they passed one another, Lucy whispered softly, just loud enough for Aleandra to hear.
“Welcome to the Limano Family. I hope you can survive here.”
Aleandra glared at her, her look demanding an explanation.
“What is this supposed to mean?” she wondered.
Meanwhile, Lucy’s smile remained in place, but this time Aleandra could sense something strange behind it.
It wasn’t a welcome. It sounded more like a warning. Lucy even turned away and sauntered off.
“Well then, I’ll be going, Ben. Please take care of the prisoner—oops, your new master.” Lucy spoke with a mocking edge.
Ben merely fixed her with a threatening stare and did not respond.
But unlike Ben, Aleandra had heard those words perfectly clearly.
“Oh God. Dad … Mom … I just want to go home.” Aleandra kept murmuring inwardly.
She truly felt a fear she couldn’t even let show.
Without Aleandra realizing it, the wedding night that was supposed to mark the beginning of a new life had instead brought her into a world full of secrets.
Yes, the world belonging to Issac Limano. For some reason, Aleandra began to feel that the darkness shrouding that night had not truly ended.
As she continued walking behind the guard, the figure of a man suddenly came to mind.
“Darren … help me!”
