Chapter 42: After the Rain

🔒 This chapter is locked · 20 Quills

Three months after her grandmother's death, Kadek Ayu Saraswati reopens the family healing practice in Padangtegal, Ubud. She expects grieving patients, old herbal remedies, and the quiet responsibility of becoming the third-generation Balian Usada. Instead, she finds a red-cloth-wrapped notebook hidden beneath her grandmother's sacred manuscripts. Inside are seven names. Seven deaths officially recorded as heart attacks, accidents, or natural causes. Beside each name, her grandmother wrote a quiet contradiction, and a connection to land that was sold soon after the funeral.
