DANG!
Ardent City shook.
People poured out of their homes.
The guards came running.
The Weapon Spirits of the Armament Masters trembled uncontrollably.
Kael stood in the middle of the street.
The Broken Sword in his hand pulsed.
DANG!
A second sound rang out.
Kael closed his eyes.
For an instant, he saw a dark room.
A forge furnace.
And a black hammer.
But this time, there was no face.
No human being.
Only the hammer standing in the darkness.
Kael heard a voice.
Not a human voice.
It was more like a whisper from something incredibly old.
Master...
Kael opened his eyes.
"What?"
Darius stared at him.
"Who are you talking to?"
Kael didn't answer.
The ground in front of them began to crack.
CRACK!
Blue light emerged from below.
Elder Marcus came out of the Grand Armament Hall.
His expression changed when he saw the crack.
"Everyone, fall back."
Kael looked at him.
"Elder."
Marcus looked at the Broken Sword.
Then at the ground.
"You felt it?"
Kael nodded.
Marcus said nothing more.
The crack grew wider.
Yet nothing emerged.
Only a pressure that slowly filled the city.
The pressure of a weapon.
Kael felt the Broken Sword grow warm.
Then a symbol briefly appeared on its blade.
A hammer.
Kael didn't know its name.
But deep within his mind...
a word surfaced.
Heavenforge.
Kael froze.
Where had that name come from?
He didn't know.
Yet the moment the name appeared...
a memory returned.
A man stood before a forge furnace.
His hands gripped a black hammer.
The man had the same voice as Kael.
"If you see this hammer..."
Kael held his breath.
"...then the sword has already found you."
The memory vanished.
Kael opened his eyes.
There was no hammer.
No ancient weapon.
Only the Broken Sword.
But now Kael knew one thing.
There was something called Heavenforge.
And the Broken Sword had a bond with it.
Elder Marcus watched the change in Kael's expression.
"Kael."
Kael turned.
"Yes?"
Marcus stared at him for a long moment.
"You have to leave the city."
Kael was startled.
"Why?"
Marcus didn't answer.
Because deep beneath the ground...
a sound rang out.
DANG!
Then a second sound.
DANG!
Then...
DANG!
For the first time in a thousand years, an ancient weapon began to awaken.
And above the surface...
the Broken Sword began to crack.
