The red moon illuminated the kingdom of Eldoria as a fine rain fell over the ruins of an ancient city.
Atop a ruined tower stood Kael, a young man with snow-white hair and piercing blue eyes. A small silver earring gleamed in his left ear.
Kael was known for three things: his absurd strength, his pride... and his honor.
“No one in this world is more powerful than I am,” he said, gazing at the approaching army.
His hand gripped Aureon, a blade able to cut through magic.
But then a voice came from behind him:
“You still think you’re everyone’s hero, Kael.”
He turned around.
It was Lyria, a sorceress with black hair and golden eyes. The only person who could make him lose his confidence.
“And you still keep following me,” Kael replied with a smile.
“I’m not following you. I’m trying to keep you from getting killed.”
Before Kael could answer, the sky exploded.
A massive black dragon emerged from the clouds, carrying a man clad in red armor on its back.
Lyria went pale.
“The Demon King...”
Kael tightened his grip on the sword’s hilt.
“Finally, someone worth fighting.”
Lyria grabbed his arm.
“Kael, no! That creature has killed three generals of the kingdom!”
He looked at her in silence.
For the first time, fear showed in his blue eyes.
Not for himself.
For her.
“Lyria... if I don’t come back...”
“Don’t say that.”
Kael smiled.
“Then promise me one thing.”
“What?”
He stepped closer and gently touched her face.
“Wait for me.”
Lyria held his hand.
“I’ll wait... but come back alive, you idiot.”
Kael leaped from the tower.
Aureon blazed blue.
And as the dragon roared, Kael shouted:
“BY MY OATH!”
The battle that would decide the fate of Eldoria had begun.
