A rumble echoed across the pitch-black sky. The entire kingdom was shrouded in a cold, tense atmosphere.
In a grand hall of the Queen's Palace, a young man could be seen embracing Mother, who had just breathed her last in his arms.
That young man was Alzio de Mamertino, the Second Prince of the Kingdom of Mamertino.
Behind him stood another young man who appeared older than him—none other than his own older brother. He glared at the young man embracing their mother with eyes filled with hatred.
“Why would you do something like this, older brother?” Alzio whispered, his voice filled with sorrow.
The younger brother stared intently into the eyes of his only older brother, disappointment filling his gaze.
Why would the older brother he respected so deeply do something like this?
“Your family deserved it,” his older brother said, his face cold and expressionless.
Without hesitation, his older brother raised the blood-soaked sword toward Alzio's neck. He glared sharply at his younger brother, his eyes carrying the same look as before.
With a resigned expression and tears streaming down his face, Alzio was ready for whatever happened next.
“Thank you for being my little brother all this time.” Without a trace of mercy, his older brother immediately beheaded him. This was where the Second Prince's story ended in tragedy.
Crash!!!
Elsewhere, another young man had just casually thrown the novel he was reading onto the floor.
The novel was titled 'True Love' and told the story of the romance between the First Prince and the Second Prince's fiancée.
“Damn it, why did it have to end like that?!” Kamal grumbled furiously. He was extremely dissatisfied with the ending of the novel he had just finished.
It was supposed to be a romance novel with a sweet ending, yet it had ended in such a tragedy instead.
Kamal was a boy currently in his senior year of high school at a top high school in the city. His teachers knew him as an outstanding student with a good personality.
But unexpectedly, Kamal was actually the leader of a gang of delinquents in his city.
Kamal picked up the smartphone near him as soon as he heard an incoming message.
The message contained what looked like a group of delinquents tormenting a man and telling Kamal to come over.
“Perfect. I need something like this to calm me down,” Kamal muttered with a smile.
He quickly got out of bed and hurried to the location listed in the message. Before leaving, he glanced at the bookshelf in his room.
‘Maybe I'll bring a novel so I won't get bored later,’ Kamal thought.
When he arrived at the agreed-upon location, Kamal was greeted by an extremely unpleasant sight.
The man from the photo was covered in bruises all over his face. Kamal stared impassively at the delinquents who had beaten him.
“I told you not to beat him this badly,” Kamal said with a sigh.
He then looked at the badly beaten man, lifting his chin and staring at him with a threatening aura.
The man had previously harassed Kamal's friends, even sending one of them to the hospital. That was why they wanted revenge.
“Looks like you picked a fight with the wrong people,” Kamal said with a sinister smile.
Kamal ordered one of his subordinates to take the man away. He had initially wanted to beat him up a little himself, but since the man was already badly beaten, he no longer felt the need to.
As he walked along with his subordinates, Kamal opened the novel he had brought with him. One of his closest subordinates was puzzled that Kamal had somehow found the time to bring a novel to a situation like this.
