Seven years into their marriage, Bella and Emir faced a judge to finish it, not fix it. He longed for a child; she wanted to be free of pregnancy, labor and a fear that had shadowed her for years. That gap broke them, and by the time Bella was ready to change, Emir had already moved on. Then an anonymous message arrived, warning her not to let Emir remarry until she learned why he truly wanted a child. Still hurting and curious, Bella went to Emir's old family home, where she found a photo of Ardan, firstborn son of Emir's older brother Leonardo and the rightful heir to the family fortune. Ardan had been declared dead twelve years ago, though no body was ever recovered, and as long as he stayed 'dead,' Leonardo kept control of his inheritance as guardian. Emir, meanwhile, had been raised to believe he must defend the family's honor by producing a son. Ardan, however, was alive. With the help of Amora, a graceful young woman whose mother once helped rescue Ardan, Bella began unraveling the family's lies, while Emir had to accept that his desire for a child might have been planted by his father all along. The divorce was not their ending but the beginning of a secret about money, betrayal, and an heir hidden from the world for twelve years.
