Marigold couldn't wait to learn more about the property company that was a subsidiary of Chandra Grand Corp. However, Hana was still busy looking over the documents. Marigold held back her curiosity. The only thing on her mind at that moment was the chance to see Marcello again.
"The property company is called Mars Estate. It's still new and is run by Marcello Chandra, Alberto Chandra's son. Marcello's name is rarely heard because he doesn't want any publicity," Hana said as she read through the documents to make sure she gave Marigold the right information.
"Does that mean I can meet Marcello?" Marigold was startled by her own question, especially when Hana gave her a puzzled look.
Marigold cleared her throat. "I mean, would I be doing the job at the Mars Estate office, or what?"
"You might need to go there for some things, but the filming location could be somewhere else. There will be further discussions later. But you may only meet Mars Estate's talent manager, not Marcello Chandra himself, since he's the director there," Hana explained at length.
"Yes, that's what I meant. I guess I misspoke earlier." Marigold gave a small laugh, looking flustered.
Hana smiled. "You seem awfully excited about this offer."
"Of course. This is the first time I'll be modeling for a property company. It's something I've never done before." Marigold tried to keep her tone casual.
Marigold cursed herself for being unable to hide her excitement at seeing Marcello again. It was so strange. She still remembered how disgusted she'd felt by Marcello's seemingly narcissistic attitude when he proposed to her at the café that night. And now she was the one who couldn't wait to see Marcello. Had she really changed her mind?
"So, what do you think, Marry? Are you willing to take this job?" Hana asked to make sure.
Hana's question snapped Marry out of her reverie.
Marigold nodded. "I'm willing to take it. But I'd like to review all the terms of the collaboration first. If there's nothing too burdensome, then I can give you my final answer."
"All right. I'll contact Mars Estate and arrange a meeting between you and them. I'll let you know later," Hana said.
"Okay. Thank you, Hana." Marigold smiled, and Hana returned her smile.
With nothing else to discuss, Marigold said goodbye and quickly left Hana's office. She went back to Kate, who was waiting outside. Before heading home, Marigold invited Kate to stop by a café for lunch. She also wanted to discuss the job offer she'd just received.
"Why have you been smiling ever since you left Hana's office?" Kate asked curiously once they were at the café.
"I got an exciting job offer," Marigold said brightly.
Kate frowned. "What kind of job offer could make you this happy?"
"Becoming the model for a property company's ad campaign."
"So what makes this job different from your previous modeling work?" Kate asked again as she began chewing on the french fries she'd ordered.
"I'm excited because this is the first time I'll be modeling for a property company's ad campaign." Marigold cleared her throat before continuing. "Another reason is that the company is run by Marcello Chandra, Alberto Chandra's son."
"Alberto Chandra? Wow, I had no idea that famous businessman had a son," Kate commented before taking a sip of her drink.
Marigold nodded. "Hana said Marcello's name is rarely heard because he doesn't want publicity about his life."
"So, is Marcello the reason you're so excited about this job offer?" Kate narrowed her eyes suspiciously, then asked, "Are you trying to get close to him?"
"I haven't told you about it yet, have I?" Marigold asked in return, staring at the pancake she'd ordered without having touched it.
Kate shook her head. "Told me what?"
Marigold straightened in her seat and said in a half-whisper, "Marcello proposed to me last night."
"WHAT?! Marcello proposed to you?" Kate exclaimed a little too loudly in shock.
Marigold quickly put her index finger to her lips, telling Kate to be quiet. She then glanced around at the other café patrons. Fortunately, the café wasn't very crowded at that hour since it was already past lunchtime. If anyone had heard them, it could have become juicy gossip that would spread in no time.
