#13
The classroom of Class 11-1 was quiet during the last period of the day. Sitting upright in the second row from the front, Yoon Chae-won took notes on every detail of the Sociology material Seo-jun wrote on the board. To the other teachers, Chae-won was the ideal student: calm, never causing trouble, and always earning perfect scores on every exam.
But from behind his desk, Seo-jun saw a completely different picture.
[Teacher's Eye Level 2 Activated.] [Name: Yoon Chae-won (17 years old)] [Status: Class 11-1 Student / Information Faction Member] [Mental Condition: Chronic Psychological Pressure / Self-Suppression] [Trust in Host: 85%] [Hidden Potential Analysis:]
Possesses above-average logical intelligence and observational ability (Top 0.1%).
Deliberately limits her academic and social performance to avoid Cha Dong-hyun's attention.
Carries traumatic memories related to her father's accident and coma.
Seo-jun tapped his marker lightly against the board. Until now, he had treated Chae-won as the foundation's internal information channel, a victim's daughter who needed protection. But the system's data confirmed one thing: Chae-won was not merely a passive victim. She was someone who had tightly wrapped up her own potential in order to survive.
"That's all for today's lesson. You can get ready to go home," Seo-jun said as he organized his documents.
As the students began streaming out of the classroom, Seo-jun gave Chae-won a subtle signal. "Chae-won, could you help me carry these review books to the library?"
Chae-won obediently nodded. "Of course, Mr. Han."
In the quiet corner of the school library, their favorite gathering place, Seo-jun set the stack of books on a table. He sat across from Chae-won, who stood with her fingers interlaced in front of her uniform skirt.
"Chae-won," Seo-jun began in a calm voice. "You don't have to act as if you're standing before the foundation chairman when you're talking to me."
Chae-won flinched slightly and looked up at her teacher. "What do you mean, Mr. Han?"
"Whenever you're in class or in front of another teacher, you deliberately slow your speech, lower your gaze, and pretend not to understand whenever a discussion touches on a sensitive school matter," Seo-jun said slowly. "You deliberately make yourself look 'ordinary' and harmless, don't you?"
Chae-won's face suddenly stiffened. Her fingers clenched the fabric of her uniform more tightly.
"I saw the data analysis you put together when we helped Ji-ho and Ms. Kim," Seo-jun continued. "Your ability to read patterns and remember tiny details far surpasses that of other students your age. But you deliberately hold it back. You're afraid that if Cha Dong-hyun realizes how intelligent you are, he'll treat you the same way he treated your father."
Chae-won's eyes began to glisten with tears. The perfect defense she had built over years at Haneul High School slowly cracked beneath her teacher's sharp gaze.
"My father... always said," Chae-won's voice trembled softly, "that the tallest-growing flowers are the first ones to be battered by the wind. He said that, so I'd stay safe if anything happened to him, I had to become a child no one noticed."
Seo-jun gazed at the teenage girl with deep sympathy. Cha Dong-hyun's lies and domination had not only corrupted the school's budget; they had also stunted the spirit of a gifted young person like Chae-won.
"Your father wanted to protect you, Chae-won. But hiding forever won't keep you safe," Seo-jun said gently but firmly. "Cha Dong-hyun won't stop just because you pretend to be weak. The only way to stop being his puppet is to learn to think and stand on your own two feet."
Chae-won lowered her head, and her tears fell softly onto the wooden table. "But I'm scared, Mr. Han... I'm afraid that if I go too far, they'll do something even worse to my father in the hospital."
"You're not alone anymore," Seo-jun said, locking that promise directly into Chae-won's eyes. "You have me, Min-jae, and Ms. Kim. We won't let them touch you or your father."
Chae-won wiped her tears with the sleeve of her uniform. She squeezed her own fingers and drew a deep breath, gathering the courage she had buried at the bottom of her heart for years.
"Mr. Han..." Chae-won whispered, her voice filled with grim resolve. "There's one thing I've never told anyone. Not even the police or my father's lawyer back then."
Seo-jun straightened in his seat. "What is it, Chae-won?"
"The night before my father was found unconscious in his office and diagnosed with a coma brought on by a heart attack," Chae-won said, her lips trembling, "I went with him to Saint Han-il Hospital to retrieve some medical documents."
Seo-jun held his breath. Saint Han-il Hospital. The exact same name that had appeared in Yoon Tae-seok's money-laundering scheme.
"That night, in the hallway on the VIP floor," Chae-won continued, her eyes growing distant as she recalled the dark memory, "I saw a middle-aged man in an immaculate suit leave the hospital director's office with Cha Dong-hyun. He was carrying a thick black folder stamped with a ministry seal."
"Do you know who that man was?" Seo-jun asked quickly.
Chae-won slowly shook her head, then added, "I didn't know at the time. But last night, when you mentioned the names in Ms. Kim's documents... I searched for photos of government officials online."
Chae-won pulled out her phone, turned on the screen, and held it out in front of Seo-jun. The screen displayed an official government news article with the face of a middle-aged man in an expensive suit.
Yoon Tae-seok. Vice Minister of Education.
"This is the man who came that night, Mr. Han," Chae-won whispered, her body trembling violently. "I saw Cha Dong-hyun hand him a thick envelope, and this man said, 'Make sure Mr. Yoon from administration stays quiet forever so there won't be any problems with the school's accreditation.' The next morning... my father was already in a coma."
THUD.
Seo-jun's heart pounded.
The final piece of Chae-won's family tragedy clicked firmly into place. Her father had not suffered a heart attack by coincidence. He had been systematically silenced at Saint Han-il Hospital under the direct orders of Cha Dong-hyun and Yoon Tae-seok working together.

Seo-jun took Chae-won by both shoulders and looked at his student with absolute firmness. "Thank you for holding on and remembering it, Chae-won. You did something incredible."
Chae-won looked at her teacher, her eyes no longer filled with a fear of death, but with the first sparks of resolve to fight back. "Can we... get back at them, Mr. Han?"
Seo-jun curled his lips into a cold, razor-sharp smile. "Not just get back at them, Chae-won. We're going to bring down the entire tower they built on your father's suffering."
Outside the library, the evening wind blew hard, pounding against the windowpanes. Seo-jun knew that with this key witness coming forward, the battle against Cha Dong-hyun's faction had entered its most dangerous phase. The enemy would not remain still, and it was only a matter of days before the foundation leadership launched its counterattack.
