Seven days later.
Adrian Mahendra's private jet landed at exactly eight o'clock that evening.
After the long journey from Singapore, all the man wanted was to go home and rest.
But the moment he got into the car, his thoughts suddenly turned to one thing.
Alya.
For some reason, a strange feeling had been bothering him since that morning.
Adrian took out his phone.
There were no messages.
Usually, even when he was away, Alya would send him simple messages.
Have you eaten?
Don't forget to rest.
Be careful on your way.
Messages he had always ignored in the past.
Sometimes, he hadn't even replied.
Adrian opened their conversation.
Alya's last message had been sent seven days ago.
Have a safe trip. I hope everything goes smoothly in Singapore.
Adrian stared at the message for a few seconds.
Then his fingers moved.
He typed something.
I'm home.
But before he could send it, he deleted the message.
What for?
Alya had to be home.
At least, that was what he thought.
The door to the luxury penthouse opened.
Adrian stepped inside, taking off his black suit.
"Alya?"
There was no answer.
He walked toward the dining room.
Empty.
The kitchen was empty too.
There was no sound from the television.
No smell of food.
No sound of the light footsteps he usually heard when Alya ran to greet him.
Adrian frowned.
"Alya?"
Still, there was no answer.
He went upstairs to the second floor.
Their bedroom door was open.
Adrian went inside.
The bed was neatly made.
Too neatly.
He opened the closet.
Some clothes were still there.
But most of it was empty.
Adrian stood frozen.
For the first time, his heart began beating a little faster.
He opened the drawer of the bedside table.
Empty.
Then his eyes fell on a framed wedding photo of the two of them.
Adrian picked it up.
In the picture, Alya was smiling so happily.
While he was merely standing there with a blank expression.
Adrian remembered something.
"I think it's time I stopped waiting for you, Adrian."
His hand curled into a fist.
"Alya..."
He immediately grabbed his phone and called her number.
Once.
The call wouldn't go through.
He tried again.
The result was the same.
The number was no longer in service.
Adrian stared at his phone screen.
"Did she really leave?"
For the first time, he wasn't sure of his own answer.
"Mr. Adrian."
The head butler's voice made Adrian turn around.
"Where's Alya?"
The old man fell silent.
Then he lowered his head.
"Madam has left, sir."
"When?"
"Seven days ago."
Adrian froze.
"Seven days?"
"Yes, sir."
"Why didn't anyone tell me?"
The head butler hesitated before answering.
"Madam asked us not to contact you."
Adrian clenched his fists.
"Where did she go?"
"We don't know."
"She didn't say anything?"
"No, sir."
Adrian fell silent.
The woman had really left.
And what hurt even more...
Not a single person in this house knew where she had gone.
Adrian took out his phone again.
"Find her."
The head butler looked up.
"Sir?"
"Find Alya."
Adrian's voice was firm.
"By any means necessary."
The night grew later.
Adrian sat alone in his study.
On the desk lay the divorce papers he had put in the drawer seven days ago.
Now they were open.
His eyes scanned every sentence.
There were no demands.
No claim to any assets.
No request for money.
Alya asked for only one thing.
Freedom.
Adrian read the signature at the bottom.
Alya.
For some reason, his chest felt tight.
For two years, he had thought the woman would always remain by his side.
He had thought Alya would never truly leave him.
It turned out he was wrong.
Adrian closed his eyes.
For the first time, he remembered all the little things he had never appreciated.
The coffee that was always ready every morning.
The meals that were always waiting for him.
The messages he had never replied to.
And a woman who always stood by the door whenever he came home.
Adrian opened his eyes.
The room felt too quiet.
He used to like the silence.
Now...
The silence felt painful.
His phone suddenly rang.
Adrian answered it immediately.
"Any news?"
His assistant's voice came from the other end.
"Not yet, sir."
Adrian fell silent.
But a few seconds later, his assistant spoke again.
"But we found something."
"What?"
"The car Madam Alya used seven days ago was tracked heading toward a small town."
Adrian immediately stood up.
"Which town?"
His assistant named a place.
Adrian frowned.
He had never heard Alya mention that town.
"Make sure you find her."
"Yes, sir."
The call ended.
Adrian picked up his black suit.
He didn't care that it was already late.
He didn't care that he had an important meeting the next day.
For the first time in two years...
Adrian Mahendra had something far more important than his work.
He wanted to find his wife.
But Adrian didn't know yet...
In that small town, Alya was starting a new life.
And without Adrian's knowledge...
a major secret Alya had kept hidden all this time would slowly change their entire lives.
