The restaurant was packed.
Victor was sitting with three lawyer friends, laughing loudly.
Camile walked into the restaurant without realizing he was there.
When Victor saw her, he smiled contemptuously.
—Well, look who showed up... —he said, leaning back in his chair. —The woman who doesn't know when to leave.
His friends looked over curiously.
Camile stopped slowly.
She looked at him.
Cold.
Silent.
Victor continued.
—I should've known you'd show up again. Women like you always come back.
One of his friends asked:
—You two know each other?
Victor laughed.
—Know each other is a strong way to put it. Let's just say she was... a one-night fling.
His friends laughed.
Camile kept looking at him.
Without a trace of emotion.
Victor continued:
—Some women confuse sex with importance.
She then walked over to the table.
And asked calmly:
—Do you really know who you're talking to?
Victor leaned back.
—Of course I do.
He smiled.
—Just another woman I took to bed on the first date.
The entire restaurant seemed to fall silent.
Camile took a deep breath.
And then replied:
—I went to bed with you because I wanted to.
His friends fell silent.
She continued:
—Not because you're the fucking badass you think you are.
Victor frowned.
Then she said, with the same calm:
—I don't need to humiliate myself for any man.
She picked up her purse.
And finished:
—Besides, I'm Camile Victoria. CEO of Victoria Group.
The silence exploded.
Victor's friends looked at one another.
One of them blurted out:
—Wait... Camile Victoria?
Another one started laughing.
Victor went pale.
Camile merely smiled to one side.
—Next time you try to humiliate a woman...
—make damn sure you know who she is.
She turned her back on him.
And left.
Completely composed.
His friends started laughing loudly.
Victor remained motionless.
For the first time in his life...
He had been humiliated.
