Nara entered the salon, and at first, several employees looked skeptical about her appearance. But they suddenly became friendly and helpful when Nara gave them tips. Eventually, the owner came over to Nara personally.
“Please give me the prettiest makeover you can. I’m making a bet. If I win, I’ll give you a bonus,” she said. Her grandfather had always taught her that money was a flexible tool. Almost every problem could be solved if you had that flexible tool.
“Oh, thank you. I’ll make sure you look absolutely gorgeous,” the owner replied.
Nara began her treatment from head to toe. The owner herself handled Nara throughout the process. They also discussed body care and makeup that would suit Nara.
Time passed. They had finally finished Nara’s makeover. Nara stared at herself in the mirror. She knew she would look pretty, but this was far beyond her expectations.
“You were already beautiful, Miss. You just need to take better care of yourself,” the salon owner praised.
Nara smiled brightly. “Thank you. Oh, by the way, do you have a stylist’s contact information?” she asked.
Her appearance was already beautiful, but she was still wearing those shabby, outdated clothes. “I have a friend who’s a stylist. Would you like me to introduce you?”
“Sure. If I like the result, I’ll give both of you a bonus,” she said casually.
The salon owner immediately contacted the stylist, and before long, the stylist arrived at the salon with several outfits.
It turned out that choosing clothes wasn’t easy either—not because there was nothing that suited Nara, but because the stylist had brought clothes that were far too revealing for her.
“Ouch, this won’t do. You’re coming with me to the mall right now, and here’s your bonus. Thank you.” Nara immediately took the stylist to the mall and gave the salon owner several bonuses.
And so began Nara’s long day of roaming around the mall.
Arka arrived at his penthouse early. The people at the office had been so noisy that they’d given him an even worse headache. But he realized something was strange about his home. It felt unusually quiet.
Usually, the smell of cooking would drift in from the kitchen, but now there wasn’t any scent at all. Even the person who lived there was nowhere to be seen.
“Where did she go?” Arka muttered. He immediately pulled out his phone, intending to contact Nara. But then he realized he didn’t have the girl’s contact information.
“Damn it,” he cursed.
Arka tried to suppress his unease and chose to sit in the living room. His legs wouldn’t stop moving. He couldn’t calm down at all.
Arka remembered again that Nara was an innocent village girl. What if she’d been tricked and was now huddled miserably by the side of the road?
“She left at the crack of dawn, and she still hasn’t come home?”
Arka could no longer contain his anxiety. He snatched up his car keys and was about to head downstairs to look for Nara.
The elevator doors opened, and a woman walked past him. But Arka was too focused on getting downstairs to notice her.
“Wait, Mr. Arka? Where are you going?” asked Nara, who had just arrived.
Hearing that familiar voice, Arka looked up and saw an incredibly beautiful girl. He didn’t even blink for several moments.
“Mr. Arka?” Nara called again.
Coming to his senses, Arka immediately looked Nara up and down. “Are you really Ms. Linara?” he asked incredulously.
Nara smiled at that. “Of course! Who else could get access to this floor if not you and me?”
A faint flutter stirred in Arka’s chest. He even felt his cheeks grow hot all the way to his ears. He immediately looked away from Nara, trying to hide his feelings.
Seeing that, Nara flashed a mischievous smile. “Are you embarrassed because I’m so beautiful?” she asked confidently.
“Being too confident is a bad thing,” Arka shot back.
“But I’m beautiful, right?” Nara asked, making a slightly cute face.
Without realizing it, Arka nodded. The very next second, Nara cheered happily. “Yay! I won the bet!”
Confused, Arka could only say, “What?”
Apparently, he had completely forgotten about the bet.
