Sendi was still staring at Dimas's black book.
The sentence written on that page kept spinning through his head.
That house wasn't keeping someone inside. It was keeping something.
The more he read, the more questions came to him.
Dimas sat in front of them with a serious expression.
"I knew you guys would be curious."
"Obviously," Sendi answered quickly.
Joko immediately looked at him.
"Don't get too excited."
"Why?"
"Because whenever you get excited, we usually end up in trouble with you."
Sendi didn't care.
He looked at the book again.
"Dimas, when you went into that house, what actually happened?"
Dimas was silent.
His hand reached for the book.
"I went in with Aldi."
Sendi turned to Aldi.
"You too?"
Aldi nodded.
"We were still kids back then."
"Why did you go in?"
Dimas gave a faint smile.
"Because we were curious."
Joko immediately pointed at Sendi.
"See? Just like him."
Sendi shot him a look.
"Don't bother me."
Dimas opened another page.
"At first, we just wanted to prove the stories people told."
"What stories?"
"They said the house held something left behind by someone."
"Who?"
Dimas shook his head.
"We didn't know."
"And then you went inside?"
"Yeah."
Sendi focused even more closely on what he was saying.
"The inside of the house wasn't what we'd imagined."
"What do you mean?"
"The rooms were different."
"Different how?"
Dimas looked toward the window.
"It was like a house that kept changing."
Joko immediately stood up.
"Okay."
"What now?"
"I'm starting to feel uncomfortable."
Raka held back a laugh.
"Just sit down."
Joko sat down again, grumbling.
Dimas continued.
"The strangest thing was that we found a bag."
"Inside the house?"
"Yeah."
Sendi suddenly remembered something.
"A bag?"
Dimas nodded.
"An old bag."
"What was inside?"
Dimas fell silent.
"A book."
"Another book?"
"Yeah."
"A book about the house?"
"No."
Sendi frowned.
"Then what was it about?"
Dimas looked at Aldi.
Aldi looked uncomfortable.
"The book was about the people who had visited that house."
The room immediately fell silent.
"People?"
"Yeah."
Dimas opened his book to the middle.
There were several names there.
Sendi read them one by one.
Some were names he didn't recognize.
There were dates.
Short notes.
Until finally, his eyes stopped on one name.
Dimas.
Sendi was startled.
"Your name is here."
Dimas nodded.
"That's why I've never forgotten that house."
"How did your name get in there?"
"I don't know."
Sendi turned the page.
Then stopped again.
There was another name.
Sendi.
His hand froze.
"What?"
Joko and Raka leaned in to look too.
"My name?"
Sendi looked at Dimas.
"How is that possible?"
Dimas shook his head.
"I don't know either."
Aldi looked shocked.
"I've never seen this page before."
Sendi gripped the book more tightly.
"But I've never been inside that house."
"That doesn't mean your name can't be there," Dimas said quietly.
The words sent a chill down Sendi's spine.
That night, Sendi went home with his mind full of questions.
Even during dinner, he barely said a word.
Mom noticed and immediately asked him,
"What's wrong?"
Sendi snapped back to reality.
"Huh?"
"You've been quiet this whole time."
"I'm tired."
"Usually, being tired just makes you noisier."
Sendi gave a small smile.
"I guess you're right."
Mom sat across from him.
"If something's wrong, tell me."
Sendi looked at Mom.
For a few seconds, he wanted to tell her everything.
But once again, he was afraid.
Afraid Mom would forbid him from getting involved.
Afraid everything would come to a stop.
"It's nothing, Mom."
Mom sighed.
"All right."
After dinner, Sendi went to his room.
He opened his schoolbag.
As he took out his textbooks, something fell out.
A small piece of paper.
Sendi immediately picked it up.
He was sure it wasn't his.
The words on the paper made his heart pound.
You found your name. Now find out why your name is there.
Sendi immediately stood up.
"Who put this in here?"
He checked his bag.
There was nothing else inside.
There was no one else in the room.
He looked toward the window.
It was closed.
The door was locked too.
Sendi began to think.
How had the paper gotten inside?
The next morning, Sendi brought the paper to school.
The moment Joko saw his face, he knew something was wrong.
"Don't tell me."
Sendi pulled out the paper.
Joko read it.
His expression immediately changed.
"This isn't funny."
"I know."
"Who could've put this in here?"
"I don't know."
Raka took the paper.
"Is this the same handwriting?"
Sendi nodded.
"Yeah."
Nisa, who had just arrived, immediately looked at the paper.
"Where did you get that?"
Sendi turned to her.
"From my bag."
Nisa immediately fell silent.
"What's wrong?"
Nisa looked frightened.
"Someone knows about that bag."
"The bag?"
Nisa nodded.
"Dimas found the same bag before."
Sendi went still.
"Don't tell me..."
"Yeah."
Nisa looked at the paper.
"Writing like this has appeared near Dimas's things before too."
Sendi clenched his fists.
So this wasn't a coincidence.
Someone really was following them.
And that person knew more than they did.
While they were talking about it, Aldi arrived.
"I need to talk to you guys."
Sendi looked at him.
"About what?"
Aldi stared at the paper in Sendi's hand.
"About the person who sent that message."
"Who?"
Aldi took a breath.
"I know who they are."
They all fell silent.
"Who?"
Aldi looked at Sendi.
"The person who's been guarding the house's secret all this time."
"What's their name?"
Aldi answered softly,
"Their name is Ardi."
Sendi fell silent.
Because they had never heard that name before.
And it seemed...
The person named Ardi was the key to all the secrets they'd been searching for.
