The sound of footsteps drew closer.
Arga stood in the basement, clutching the red book.
He didn't have much time.
From upstairs came the voices of people searching.
“Check every room!”
“Don't let him get out!”
Arga switched off the emergency lights.
Then he looked around.
The room had two doors.
One led to the main staircase.
The other was behind a document shelf.
Arga moved the shelf aside.
There was a narrow passage behind it.
He went inside.
Before closing the door, Arga saw something on the table.
A photograph.
A photograph of Adrian.
And Maya.
They stood side by side.
Behind them, words had been written:
**1989 — Project K.**
Arga took the photograph.
Then he ran.
The passage led to a small room at the back of the house.
Arga stepped outside.
The night air was cold.
He immediately tried calling Raka.
No connection.
He tried Nadia.
No connection.
Arga grew suspicious.
If they had managed to get into the house undetected, there was a good chance communications had already been cut off.
He walked toward the main road.
A car stopped.
The door opened.
Arga immediately tensed.
But someone got out.
“Arga!”
Raka.
Arga let out a relieved breath.
“You guys?”
“Waiting outside.”
“How?”
“Adrian contacted us.”
Arga froze.
“Adrian?”
Raka nodded.
“He said you'd come out through the back road.”
Arga stared at him.
“Where's Nadia?”
Raka fell silent.
Arga immediately sensed that something was wrong.
“Raka.”
“Nadia's missing.”
They returned to the warehouse.
Maya was standing there.
Her expression changed when she saw Arga.
“You found the book.”
Arga stared at her.
“You knew about this book, Mom?”
Maya said nothing.
Arga pulled out the red book.
“Why is your name on the last page?”
Maya didn't answer.
“Why did Dad write that you were hiding a secret?”
Maya remained silent.
Arga began to lose patience.
“Mom!”
Maya finally looked at him.
“Because your father never knew the whole truth.”
“Then tell me.”
Maya drew a long breath.
“Adrian isn't your father's twin brother.”
Arga fell silent.
“What?”
“He is his biological twin brother.”
Maya paused.
“But they don't have the same father.”
Arga frowned.
“Explain.”
Maya looked at him.
“Arman and Adrian were born to the same mother.”
“And?”
“Adrian was the child of a secret affair.”
Arga went silent.
“With whom?”
Maya didn't answer.
Arga began to understand.
“With whom, Mom?”
Maya lowered her head.
“Leonard Hartono.”
The room fell silent.
Arga took a step back.
“So…”
Maya nodded.
“Adrian is Leonard's son.”
Arga looked at the old photograph in his hand.
Everything was becoming more complicated.
Leonard wasn't merely a business partner.
He was Adrian's biological father.
And if Adrian was the leader of the K Consortium…
then their connection ran far deeper than anyone had ever imagined.
Raka came in carrying a laptop.
“We have another problem.”
Arga turned toward him.
“Nadia?”
“Still missing.”
“Track her phone.”
“Already did.”
“And?”
“It's turned off.”
Arga clenched his fist.
“Where was she last seen?”
Raka showed him the security footage.
Nadia was seen leaving the office.
Then getting into a black car.
Arga recognized it.
“Whose car is that?”
Raka zoomed in on the image.
The license plate was clearly visible.
Arga immediately called someone.
“Dimas.”
A few seconds later, the call connected.
“Yeah?”
“Do you know the car with this license plate?”
Dimas fell silent.
Arga noticed the pause.
“Dimas?”
“I… I've seen it before.”
“Where?”
“Around the office.”
“Who owns it?”
Dimas drew a breath.
“A security company.”
“Name?”
“Sentinel Guard.”
Arga ended the call.
Raka asked,
“You suspicious?”
“Now I'm suspicious of everyone.”
4:00 a.m.
Arga received a message.
A single photograph.
Nadia was sitting in a dark room.
She wasn't injured.
But her hands were tied.
Behind her was a logo.
The letter **K**.
Then another message came in.
**“Bring the red book.”**
A second message.
**“Come alone.”**
A third message.
**“If you don't, Nadia dies.”**
Raka looked at Arga.
“Don't go.”
Arga shook his head.
“I have to.”
“We don't know who's waiting.”
“I do.”
“Who?”
Arga stared at the photograph of Nadia.
“The person who wants this book.”
Maya stood up.
“I'll go with you.”
Arga turned toward her.
“No.”
“This is my problem too.”
“That's exactly why.”
Maya looked at him.
“I know where it is.”
Arga fell silent.
“Where?”
Maya answered,
“The K Consortium's old warehouse.”
An hour later, Arga arrived at an old industrial district.
A large warehouse stood in the middle of an empty lot.
There was no activity anywhere.
The lights inside were on.
Arga got out of the car.
Raka grabbed his shoulder.
“You sure?”
“No.”
“Good.”
Arga gave a faint smile.
“When I'm too sure, I usually make mistakes.”
He walked toward the door.
The door opened by itself.
“Come in.”
A voice came from inside.
Arga entered.
The room was empty.
There was only one chair.
Nadia was sitting in it.
Arga immediately moved toward her.
But another voice rang out.
“Don't.”
A man stepped out of the shadows.
Arga recognized him.
**Adrian.**
Arga stared at him.
“Let Nadia go.”
“After you give me the book.”
Arga held up the red book.
“This is what you're looking for?”
Adrian smiled.
“Not me.”
“Then who?”
Adrian looked behind him.
An old man emerged from another room.
Arga froze.
He had seen that face in photographs.
**Leonard Hartono.**
But Leonard hadn't come alone.
Another man stood behind him.
Arga saw his face.
It was identical to his father's.
But colder.
Adrian.
Arga looked at the two men.
Then he understood something.
“So there are two Adrians?”
Leonard smiled.
“No.”
He pointed at the man beside him.
“That isn't Adrian.”
Arga stared at him.
The man smiled.
Then he said,
“My name is Arman.”
Arga froze.
The world seemed to stop.
His father.
Was he still alive?
Impossible.
Arga stepped back.
“No…”
The man stepped forward.
“Arga.”
That voice.
The voice he had heard in the old recording.
His father's voice.
Arga couldn't move.
“You…”
The man nodded.
“I'm your father.”
Arga looked at Maya.
His mother was crying.
Arga shook his head.
“This can't be.”
Maya covered her face.
Arman said,
“I never died.”
“Then who died?”
Arman fell silent.
Adrian smiled.
“Now you're beginning to understand.”
Arga looked at all of them.
“So the accident…”
Arman answered,
“It wasn't an accident.”
“Then what was it?”
“I made everyone believe I was dead.”
“Why?”
“To disappear from the K Consortium.”
Arga shook his head.
“Then why did Mom say…”
Maya cut him off.
“Because that's what you had to believe.”
Arga stared at his mother.
“So you've all been lying to me this whole time?”
Maya cried.
“To protect you.”
Arga laughed bitterly.
“Protect me?”
He pointed around the room.
“Nadia was kidnapped.”
He pointed at himself.
“I was hunted.”
Then he looked at his father.
“And for fifteen years, I lived believing that all of you were dead.”
Arman lowered his head.
“I know.”
“No.”
Arga shook his head.
“You don't know, Dad.”
The room fell silent.
Arga continued,
“You don't know what it's like to grow up without parents.”
Arman didn't answer.
“You don't know what it's like to hear people say your father died in an accident.”
“Arga…”
“You don't know what it's like to work your way up from nothing because I thought there was no one who would help me.”
Tears began to fall from Arga's eyes.
“But now…”
He looked at them.
“…now I know it was all a lie.”
Arman stepped closer.
“I did everything so you could live.”
Arga stared at him.
“Then why show up now?”
Arman fell silent.
Arga waited.
“Why?”
At last, Arman answered,
“Because I failed.”
“At what?”
“To destroy the K Consortium.”
Arga frowned.
“Didn't you succeed in destroying the old structure?”
“Yes.”
“And?”
Arman looked at Adrian.
“Adrian rebuilt everything.”
Arga stared at his uncle.
Adrian smiled.
“Not just rebuilt it.”
He stepped forward.
“I improved it.”
Arga looked at him.
“By destroying companies?”
“By controlling companies.”
“By moving assets?”
“By moving power.”
“By killing people?”
Adrian fell silent.
Arga continued,
“How many people have died because of you?”
Adrian answered coldly,
“Fewer than would die if this network collapsed.”
Arga was stunned.
“What does that mean?”
Adrian looked at Leonard.
Leonard then said,
“The world doesn't know that the national economy has a weak point.”
“What?”
“NDE.”
Arga fell silent.
“If NDE falls into the wrong hands, the data-distribution and transaction systems could be disrupted.”
Raka said,
“So you maintained the K Consortium to protect the system?”
Leonard laughed.
“Don't be so naive.”
Arman cut in,
“That is a lie.”
Everyone turned toward him.
Arman looked at Arga.
“They do control the system.”
“But not to protect it.”
“To control it.”
Arman walked closer to Arga.
“And now you're the only person with enough capital, enough information, and enough courage to disrupt them.”
Arga fell silent.
He began to understand the reason behind all the attacks.
It wasn't because they were afraid of Mahendra Investment Partners.
They were afraid Arga might take control of NDE.
And beyond that…
expose the K Consortium's network.
Adrian suddenly pulled out a gun.
Raka moved at once.
“Don't!”
Adrian aimed the weapon at Arman.
Arga stepped between them.
“Stop.”
Adrian smiled.
“You're just like your father.”
“Don't touch him.”
Adrian looked at Arga.
“You think I want to kill him?”
“Isn't that what you did fifteen years ago?”
Adrian shook his head.
“No.”
“Then who did?”
Adrian looked at Leonard.
Leonard said nothing.
Then Adrian said,
“Not me.”
Arga turned toward Leonard.
Leonard didn't say a word.
Arga began to understand.
“Then who?”
Adrian answered,
“The person who actually ordered your father's death…”
He paused.
“…was someone you never suspected.”
Arga looked at everyone.
Then the warehouse door opened.
Someone entered.
Arga recognized the face.
He had seen it every day.
The person who was always helping the team.
The person who had always stood by his side.
The person he had trusted all this time.
**Dimas.**
Dimas walked closer.
Arga froze.
“Dimas?”
Dimas didn't answer.
He stood beside Leonard.
Raka glared at him.
“You?”
Dimas lowered his head.
Arga felt his chest tighten.
“So you're the traitor.”
Dimas lifted his face.
“I didn't have a choice.”
Arga laughed bitterly.
“Every traitor says the same thing.”
Dimas looked at him.
“If I didn't do what they asked, they'd kill my family.”
Arga fell silent.
Dimas continued,
“I never wanted to hurt you.”
“Then what about Nadia?”
“I didn't know they'd kidnap her.”
Arga glared at him.
“Liar.”
Dimas shook his head.
“I only gave them information.”
Leonard smiled.
“And that information led us to you.”
Arga stared at Dimas.
“You told them about the red book?”
Dimas fell silent.
That was answer enough.
Arga drew a long breath.
Then he placed the red book on the table.
“Take it.”
Everyone was stunned.
Dimas stared at him.
“Arga…”
“Take it.”
Leonard picked up the book.
He opened it.
Then his expression changed.
“What is this?”
Arga smiled.
“A fake book.”
Leonard stared at him.
Arga continued,
“I never brought the real book here.”
Leonard looked at Adrian.
Adrian looked at Arman.
For the first time, tension appeared on their faces.
Arga smiled.
“Because my father taught me one thing.”
“What?”
“Never bring all your assets to one place.”
He looked at Raka.
Raka pulled out his phone.
A file had already been sent.
“The original data is secure.”
Leonard froze.
“Where?”
Arga answered,
“Somewhere you'll never find.”
Then sirens sounded outside.
Leonard stared at the door.
Raka smiled.
“You think we came without a plan?”
The warehouse door began to shake under pounding fists.
Maya pulled Nadia away.
Arman stood beside Arga.
Adrian looked at his brother.
For a moment, the twin brothers stared at each other.
Then Adrian said,
“This war isn't over.”
Arga answered,
“No, it isn't.”
Adrian smiled.
“Because now they'll come for you.”
Arga looked at him.
“Who?”
Adrian answered softly,
“Someone Leonard doesn't even know exists.”
The warehouse door opened.
The sound of footsteps filled the room.
Arga looked at everyone.
And just when he thought everything was finally coming to light…
his phone vibrated.
A message arrived from an unknown number.
**“Don't trust Arman.”**
Arga looked at his father.
A second message came in.
**“He's not the man you think he is.”**
Arga raised his head.
Arman looked at him.
There was no expression on his face.
No smile.
Only a gaze that was impossible to read.
Then the final message appeared.
**“If you want to know who your father really is, open the last page of the red book.”**
Arga looked at the fake book in Leonard's hands.
Then he realized something.
He had indeed brought a fake book.
But the last page of the real book…
was still in his pocket.
Arga slowly took it out.
And on the back of the page was a line he had never seen before.
**“Arman Mahendra is not your biological father.”**
Arga froze.
The world seemed to collapse all over again.
He looked at Maya.
Then Arman.
And finally Adrian.
Not one of them said a word.
Because for the first time…
Arga no longer knew who he really was.
