Someone was walking through a library carrying a stack of books so tall it covered her face. There were probably around fifteen books, each ridiculously thick, in her arms. At a glance, she looked like a walking stack of books. She nearly ran into people several times, and luckily, the books she was carrying never spilled across the floor.
"Hey, what's your problem? Watch where you're going," snapped one of the guys who accidentally became her collision victim.
"Sorry," said the person from behind the stack of books. "I couldn't see where I was going. These books are way too tall."
The girl carrying the stack of books continued on her way slowly, afraid of running into someone again. But no matter how slowly she walked, when your eyes were covered by a stack of books, you were bound to crash into someone again.
CRASH!!!
This time, all her books spilled across the floor when the girl collided with someone again. Maysha's startled face appeared from behind the stack of books.
"Ugh, my books." Maysha stared in horror at her books scattered across the library floor. She immediately crouched down to pick them up, helped by the person she'd run into.
"That's why you need to be careful, May."
Maysha lifted her face and smiled when she saw the person crouching in front of her, picking up her books. She had apparently only then realized who she had run into because she'd been too panicked about her books falling.
"Jovan? Oh my God, I thought it was someone else," Maysha said, half startled.
The tall, handsome guy named Jovan merely smiled at Maysha. "You were really going all out, huh? Reading books until you had to carry all of them? Couldn't you just carry them one at a time?"
"It's no big deal, Van. I'm going to see my honey." Maysha gave Jovan a knowing smile.
The guy seemed to understand who she meant by honey. Jovan laughed. "You're something else. Here." He handed Maysha a stack of books, making her struggle all over again to carry so many.
"You don't want to help me, Van? You're so mean."
"Sorry, I'm in a hurry," Jovan said teasingly. "Good luck. Hope you make it there in one piece," he called as he walked away.
Maysha snorted in annoyance and continued on her way. After that exhausting journey through all kinds of obstacles, Maysha finally reached her destination. She set the stack of books on a table near a long-haired girl who was happily flipping through the pages of a magazine with a rose-covered cover.
"Here, I brought the books for our exam material later. Come on, let's study together." Maysha sat across from the girl, catching her breath as she opened one of the books.
The girl named Carissa looked puzzled when she saw the ridiculously thick stack of books on the table beside her, then looked at the person who had carried them. "May, are you seriously planning to read all these books?"
"Of course I am. What's wrong with you, Ris? We're in college now, Ris. We have to take studying seriously. No more messing around. You know how strict your dad is. Aren't you afraid he'll find out your grades are bad because you didn't study?" Maysha rambled on.
"My dad is the strict one, so why are you the one making such a fuss?" Carissa grew even more puzzled by this particular friend of hers. "Did my dad adopt you or something?"
Maysha glared at the girl in front of her, who was now laughing. "Carissa, what's wrong with you? I'm worried about you, and you're asking whether your dad adopted me or not? Besides, I don't want a strict dad like Uncle Firman. My own dad is already strict enough to have it in his blood," she said with a shudder.
Carissa threw the magazine she'd been reading at Maysha. "Hmph... even though he's that strict, I love him so much, you know?"
"Exactly, so come on, let's study together. You don't want your grades to be bad, do you? Your dad will definitely call in a private tutor for you right away."
Hearing Maysha's lecture only made Carissa laugh as she slung her bag over her shoulder. "You have a point. But I'm not in the mood to study today. I just want to go out."
Maysha immediately went into a panic. "Where are you going? I worked so hard carrying all these books for you, and now you want to leave?"
A smile appeared on Carissa's beautiful face. "I want to play soccer."
Maysha's eyes nearly popped out when Carissa said the word soccer. "What? Play soccer? Carissa! CARISSA!" Maysha shouted after Carissa, who calmly walked away and left her behind. "CARISSA!"
"Hey, keep it down. This is a library," one of Maysha's friends scolded her for causing a commotion inside the library.
Maysha immediately fell silent and had no choice but to study by herself while grumbling nonstop.
