Carissa left class after college ended that afternoon. She was busy rummaging through her bag, searching for something, but she still couldn't find it. She was starting to get annoyed and had almost thrown her bag at the head of a passing professor. Luckily, someone stopped her before things got ugly.
"Be patient," Jovan said, holding back Carissa's arm as she raised her bag to throw it somewhere.
Carissa was startled. "Van, when did you get here?" she asked, confused by Jovan's presence. She immediately lowered her bag, abandoning the idea of throwing it around.
"Just now," Jovan replied. "What were you doing, anyway, trying to throw your bag around? If it hit that bald professor, you'd be in trouble."
Carissa only grinned. "I didn't mean to do that. I was just annoyed. I've been looking for my phone forever, but I still can't find it."
"This one?" Jovan asked, holding up a flat object in his hand.
"Where did you get that?" Carissa asked as she took her phone from Jovan's hand and looked at it. It was definitely hers.
"I found it in the cafeteria this morning."
"What? The cafeteria?"
Jovan nodded. "You ate there earlier, right? Then you left your phone behind."
Carissa suddenly remembered that she had gone to the cafeteria with Maysha earlier. Because Maysha had hurried her to leave, she had forgotten her phone on the table. "Yeah, I did go to the cafeteria earlier." She spoke to Jovan with a slight blush. "It's all Maysha's fault. She was in such a hurry to get me to leave, so I forgot my phone."
"You're still young, but you're already starting to get senile," Jovan teased. "By the time you're old, you might end up with dementia."
Carissa just laughed in response.
"Ris, do you have any plans today?" Jovan suddenly asked.
"Why?"
"I want to take you out."
"Take me out?" Carissa furrowed her brow, looking thoughtful.
"Why? Can't you? Or do you already have plans with Maysha?" Jovan asked again.
Carissa shook her head. "No, I don't. Okay, I can go."
Jovan's happy smile appeared. He was clearly delighted by her answer.
"But can you take me to Adit's place first? I want to pick up my mom's phone. She's been without it for three days and is completely lost. She can't gossip with her arisan gossip group." Carissa laughed as she described her mom's randomness.
Jovan only chuckled. Apparently, all housewives were like that—including his own mother.
Jovan nodded in agreement. "Okay. Let's go."
Jovan's car stopped in front of a fairly large repair shop and store called Garden Cell. The store also sold phones and all kinds of accessories. Several customers were there to buy phones or accessories for their own devices.
"I'll just wait here," Jovan said. "Are you okay going in by yourself?"
"Of course I am. What, do you think I'm a little kid?" Carissa replied with a slight pout. "This is my usual place, so I come here all the time. All right, I'll be right back, okay?" Carissa got out of Jovan's car.
Inside Garden Cell, Rangga and Abe were busy arguing over which phone model Abe should buy when Carissa arrived and greeted the owner. Abe was holding a sheet of paper listing the prices and types of the latest phones.
"Good afternoon, Adit." Carissa greeted the man who owned the shop warmly. She was clearly very close to him.
"Oh, Carissa." Adit looked happy to see her. "Are you here to pick up the phone?" The shop owner already knew why the girl had come.
"Yeah. Is it ready yet? Mom's been going crazy at home."
"Oh, yeah, it's ready. Hang on. I'll go get it." Adit walked to the back to retrieve the phone Carissa had come to pick up.
Carissa waited for Adit while looking around at every corner of the shop. Besides selling new and quality used phones, Adit's shop also sold all kinds of accessories and other phone equipment.
"Have you decided yet?"
Carissa briefly glanced to her right, where Rangga and Abe still hadn't finished dealing with their problem.
