🔒 This episode is locked · 20 Quills

In the Empire of Ten Thousand Peaks, breakthroughs in cultivation are borrowed from heart demons and repaid with pieces of one's own soul. Xiao Mei, the most feared demon contract litigator among the Nine Courts, takes on the one case she should refuse: saving Qin Lian, the boy who once hid her from sect recruiters. To undo his repossession, she must return to the Primordial Heart Demon, her former master and the one who drafted the empire's very first spiritual lease. What he offers is not mercy but possession, and her answer will save thousands while leaving them too afraid to meet her eyes.
