Episode 6: The Engagement

Yun Sora reopens her eyes at seventeen, already carrying two decades of misery behind her: a frigid arranged marriage, a silent husband, and a household that only noticed her illness once it killed her. Determined to use what she knows, she calls off the engagement and builds a life entirely her own. By the time she turns twenty, she is self-sufficient, flourishing, and convinced she has left her tragedy behind. But the man she remembers as cold keeps reappearing with unsettling warmth, and old witnesses describe events that do not match what she believes happened. Sora is forced to face a harder truth: her memories are real, yet they may be unreliable. The life she fled was shaped not only by cruelty, but by depression, stubborn pride, silence, and conclusions she drew while too wounded to see straight. Now she must decide, not whether to return, but whether she can move forward without mistaking her pain for proof.
