After that first meeting, Andi and Indri began seeing each other more and more often.
At first, it was only coincidence.
Then it became a habit.
And before they knew it, little by little, it became something they looked forward to.
They began sharing stories.
About work.
About family.
About the small dreams they wanted to make come true.
Indri once said,
“I want to have a small house someday. It doesn’t have to be fancy. What matters is that it has a yard and a tree.”
Andi smiled.
“Why a tree?”
“So that when I’m old, I can sit beneath it and remember that life was once so beautiful.”
Andi said nothing.
In his heart, he said:
If I could, I’d want to be the person sitting beside you beneath that tree.
But those words never left his lips.
He simply kept them to himself.
Second by second, minute by minute.
Day by day.
Week by week.
Until finally, Indri became part of Andi’s routine.
And without Andi realizing it...
Indri’s name began appearing in his prayers.
It was no longer simply:
“I hope today goes well.”
But:
“Allah, watch over her. Make her happy. If I’m not the person You’ve chosen to walk beside her, then at least don’t let me be the one who hurts her.”
Andi began to love Indri.
In silence.
In prayer.
In simplicity.
Without ever asking for anything.
