Chapter 8: Expulsion on His Record
“Chen Yu, stand up and explain why you hit Homeroom Teacher Liu and why you didn’t take the exam!”
Zhao Yun’s voice was icy, and unmistakable anger showed on her face. She had always thought Chen Yu was mild-mannered and obedient, so what had happened this time was truly beyond her expectations. She had only taken two days off, never imagining that something this serious would happen.
Everyone looked at Chen Yu with schadenfreude. An Xinghao raised his chin slightly, shot him a glance, then turned his head toward the window.
Ma Jinping looked at Chen Yu with contempt and mocked, “He definitely got rejected after confessing. What a poor, pathetic loser. One little setback and he throws his whole life away.”
After saying that, she gazed at An Xinghao with adoration.
My Xinghao is the truly outstanding one. Compared with someone like Chen Yu, he’s practically a saint.
Chen Yu couldn’t be bothered to stand. He merely said flatly, “There’s no reason.”
He was Cangyu Celestial Venerable. Why should he have to explain himself to anyone?
“You!”
Zhao Yun froze, then grew so furious that her chest heaved violently.
“Come with me to the office! The rest of you study on your own!”
She stamped her high heels hard and walked out. Chen Yu pondered for a moment before rising to follow her. Behind them came a flurry of shocked exclamations.
“Oh my God, Chen Yu’s gone crazy!”
“He must know he’s about to get expelled, so he’s got nothing left to fear.”
“Hmph, what an arrogant idiot. Homeroom Teacher Liu will definitely get revenge on him.”
Shen Fei watched Chen Yu leave. Strangely, he didn’t feel worried. He only felt that he understood this friend less and less.
In the office, Zhao Yun had barely sat down when Chen Yu took the seat across from her, making her frown repeatedly.
Suppressing her anger, Zhao Yun glared at him for a long while before finally saying coldly, “Do you not want to study anymore? Why did you hit Liu Fali?”
Chen Yu was still pondering how to answer when Zhao Yun spoke again. “Liu Fali has powerful connections. He won’t let this go. I’ll plead with him for you and make sure you keep your student record for now. We’ll figure out the rest later.”
Chen Yu was slightly surprised. She might be cold, but she genuinely cared about me.
Seeing his expression, Zhao Yun assumed he was afraid, and her tone softened a little.
“You’re in your final year now, the most important stage. You’re my student, and I hope you’ll put your whole heart into your studies, get into a good university, and live up to yourself as well as your parents.”
At her last words, Chen Yu stared into her deep eyes. The corner of his lips lifted slightly, revealing a faint smile. “You’re not bad.”
His eyes glittered like starlight, making Zhao Yun’s heart pound. He didn’t look like a student at all, but like a seasoned man with unfathomable depths and an irresistible charm.
Those eyes… they were so alluring.
Oh no, Zhao Yun, what are you thinking? He’s your student!
She hurriedly shook her head and lowered it to smooth the stray hair by her ear.
“Enough. You should still listen to me and study hard.”
Her face flushed bright red, and Zhao Yun was so flustered that she could barely finish a sentence. If the class knew that their beautiful, icy homeroom teacher had turned this shy and red-faced, they would surely be left speechless.
The atmosphere in the office suddenly became awkward. Just then, Zhao Yun’s phone rang. When she saw the number on the screen, her expression immediately turned grim.
“Hello?”
“Yes, I understand. I’ll bring him over right away.”
“All right. I hope you’ll consider this carefully.”
After hanging up, Zhao Yun’s face was clouded with gloom. She looked at Chen Yu with utmost seriousness.
“I’m taking you to the principal’s office. Principal Zheng and Homeroom Teacher Liu want to see you!”
Seeing her solemn expression, Chen Yu smiled faintly. “Don’t be so tense. It’s nothing serious.”
Zhao Yun was stunned. How could this boy still be so calm?
His deep gaze and unhurried bearing made her feel as if she were seeing Chen Yu for the first time—a person hidden in mist, radiating a deadly allure.
“No one knows whether he’ll make it through this trial.”
Zhao Yun lowered her voice, then led Chen Yu to the principal’s office.
Inside, Liu Fali sat on the sofa with his legs crossed, blowing smoke from a Zhonghua cigarette. The moment he saw Zhao Yun, he broke into a broad grin.
“Oh, the prettiest little lady in the school! Two days apart, and you’re even more beautiful!”
As he spoke, his lustful gaze swept over Zhao Yun from head to toe. Beside him, Principal Zheng merely adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and nodded with a smile.
Zhao Yun’s eyes were as cold as ice. “Homeroom Teacher Liu, we’re here to discuss school business. I’ve brought Chen Yu. How do you intend to handle this?”
The moment he heard Chen Yu’s name, Liu Fali’s face darkened. He glared at him, a cruel smile spreading across his fleshy face.
“How do we handle it? Hmph! Chen Yu showed disrespect and attacked a teacher. Principal Zheng and I have already agreed—students like this will have their enrollment terminated immediately!”
“What?”
Zhao Yun’s expression changed. “Chen Yu knows he was wrong. He only acted that way because he was pushed too far. I’ve reprimanded him severely. Please reconsider!”
“Chen Yu, apologize to Homeroom Teacher Liu now!”
She urgently signaled to him with her eyes, but Chen Yu acted as if he hadn’t seen her.
“No! A student like this must be expelled immediately!” Liu Fali shouted.
Principal Zheng laughed loudly and waved his hand.
“Now, now, it’s only a minor matter. Homeroom Teacher Liu, don’t be so harsh.”
Zhao Yun breathed a small sigh of relief.
“But Chen Yu is indeed at fault. How about this? Chen Yu can treat Homeroom Teacher Liu to dinner tonight as an apology, and we’ll consider the matter settled. Teacher Zhao, you also bear some responsibility for managing your students, so come have a few drinks with Homeroom Teacher Liu tonight and enjoy yourselves.”
“But…”
Zhao Yun hesitated. If this could resolve the matter, that would be good, but she didn’t know how to drink.
Principal Zheng and Liu Fali exchanged a look and revealed sinister smiles.
They had planned this in advance. Liu Fali had coveted Zhao Yun for a long time. Using Chen Yu’s situation as an excuse to invite her out to dinner, then taking advantage of her once she was drunk—wouldn’t he be free to do whatever he wanted?
A female teacher with no powerful backing could be used and then given a little money. Threaten her a bit, too, and what could she possibly do?
With that thought, Liu Fali’s gaze at Zhao Yun grew increasingly vulgar.
Chen Yu narrowed his eyes slightly. With his experience and discernment, he saw through the thoughts of the two men at once.
Just as Zhao Yun was about to grit her teeth and agree, Chen Yu spoke calmly.
“Invite her to dinner? Nice. Get Teacher Zhao drunk, then do whatever you want to her, right?”
Zhao Yun shuddered and stared at them in horror. When she saw the shocked, awkward expressions on Principal Zheng and Liu Fali’s faces, she knew Chen Yu was right.
The two of them were despicable, shameless beyond belief!
She clenched her teeth, anger surging through her.
Liu Fali bulged his eyes and shouted, “Principal Zheng, do you see that? This brat isn’t remorseful at all! He’s even slandering me! Expel him immediately!”
Principal Zheng’s face darkened. He pushed up his gold-rimmed glasses and said coldly, “A rotten piece of wood can’t be carved, and no medicine can save it! A student like this doesn’t deserve to stay at Wanli High School! Expel him immediately!”
Zhao Yun was furious and anxious. “How can you treat a student like this? Shameless!”
“Teacher Zhao, watch your words! In fact, I’ll consider deducting your bonus this month!”
“Deduct it if you want! But he’s my student, and I won’t allow anyone to expel him!”
The atmosphere instantly tightened like a drawn bowstring.
Hearing this, Chen Yu felt a faint stir in his heart. She might be powerless to change the situation, but she had still dared to stand up for him. That courage was precious.
“You want to expel me?”
He gave a cold laugh and stepped forward to stand in front of Zhao Yun, leaving her stunned.
“That’s right—expel you!”
Liu Fali laughed smugly. A senior dared to challenge me? First I’ll get him expelled, then I’ll hire someone to teach him a lesson and make him understand that there are some people he can’t afford to provoke!
But Chen Yu only smiled. He pulled out his phone and dialed a number. A sweet voice rang out.
“Hello, Master.”
