Hearing that name, Liana's body unconsciously ran toward Lianka's burning body. She tried to save Lianka from the flames. Liana struggled desperately to put out the fire.
However hard Liana tried to extinguish it, the fire refused to go out. It came from magical power that would not be easily extinguished.
“Go. You won't be able to put it out!” Lianka said. Her body was burning, but not a single sound escaped her mouth. Instead, she looked completely calm, even though parts of her body had already turned to ash.
Because Liana tried to put out the fire with her bare hands, the flames accidentally leaped onto several parts of her body.
“Aaakkhh…” Liana cried out in pain.
Suddenly, Liana felt as if her body had been shoved with tremendous force, jolting her awake from her dream.
“Ahh… it hurts!” Liana groaned.
Liana was still half-conscious, but the pain she felt brought her fully awake.
When she came to, Liana saw several burn marks remaining on the surface of her skin. In her clenched hand, she found ash from Lianka's body, which had come along when Liana had suddenly been shoved so forcefully.
“Arrgghh…” Liana leaped back in fright, scattering the gray ash across her bed.
Liana's breathing rose and fell rapidly as fear spread throughout her body. “What actually happened?” she murmured fearfully.
Slowly, she approached her bed and pulled off the blanket covered in the dusty filth. Liana tossed the blanket aside without caring where it landed. The only thing that mattered was that the dust was no longer visible.
Liana tried to calm herself. She sat in a chair and began treating the burns on her hands and feet.
Sobbing, Liana spread burn cream over the areas of her body that were beginning to blister. “What am I supposed to tell Dad and Mom if they see my injuries tomorrow?” Liana said between sobs.
Liana sat lost in thought for quite some time after finishing treatment on her injuries, trying to make sense of everything that had happened to her. When she tried to remember how Lianka's body had turned to dust in an instant, heat spread through her body.
The heat began traveling from the tips of her toes all the way to her head. Liana started screaming from the burning sensation. “Aaargh… it's so hot!” she cried.
Because Liana's scream was so loud, Denis, Rinjani, and Debi hurried into Liana's room in a panic.
“What happened, sweetheart?” Rinjani asked, her face full of panic.
“It's hot, Mom, so hot!” Liana murmured while repeatedly rubbing her palms over the parts of her body that felt hot.
“Oh my God, what happened to your hands, Li?” Rinjani exclaimed in shock when she saw the burns on Liana's body.
“I-I don't know, Mom. The burns were suddenly there when I woke up.” Denis and Rinjani exchanged confused looks. They were baffled by Liana's unusual behavior.
“Let's take Liana to the hospital, Mom!” Debi said.
Debi immediately scooped Liana up and hurried her into the car.
Inside the car, Liana continued to groan about the heat. Rinjani and Denis even had to fan her body with a book.
“Hang in there, Li. We'll be there soon!” Debi said, trying to remain calm. She had to control her panic so she could get her family there safely.
When they arrived at the hospital, Liana was immediately taken to the ER for treatment.
“What happened to the patient?” asked the doctor treating Liana.
“We don't know, Doctor. Our daughter suddenly started screaming that she was hot. Then, when we came in, her body was covered in burns like this!” Denis tried to explain what had happened to Liana.
“All right. We'll examine the patient's condition first.”
Denis, Rinjani, and Debi waited anxiously outside the room. Rinjani was especially worried when she saw how much pain Liana appeared to be in.
Almost an hour passed before the doctor finally came out to give them an update on Liana's condition.
“How is my daughter, Doctor?” Denis asked.
“We've treated her burns, but we had to give your daughter a sedative injection because she kept writhing whenever we tried to treat her injuries.”
“And how is she now, Doctor?” Denis asked again.
“She is resting now. Once she regains consciousness, we'll move her to a regular room.”
“All right. Thank you, Doctor!”
