Kania took one step closer. Every footfall felt weighed down by heavy tension. The atmosphere in the back corridor suddenly grew utterly silent and oppressive.
“Narti,” Kania called. Her voice was no longer loud. Instead, it was soft, heavy, and filled with pure authority that raised the hairs on the back of one’s neck. “Let me make one thing clear to you.”
Bi Narti, who had been about to shout back, suddenly froze. The words caught in her throat. There was something in Dewi’s gaze—a gaze that had once always been filled with fear—that now felt utterly unfamiliar and terrifying. It was as if the person standing before her was not the same fragile girl, but a ruler ready to destroy her at any moment.
“In this house, the blood running through my veins is this family’s blood,” Kania continued, her tone calm but cutting. “And you? You’re just an outsider paid to obey this family’s orders. If my mother wants to throw me out, that’s an internal family matter. But you? You’re nothing more than a servant who’s forgotten her place.”
Bi Narti swallowed with difficulty. Cold sweat began dampening her temples. Her tongue felt numb, unable to form a retort.
“Do you think Mrs. Diah would defend a lowly servant like you if I reported that you shouted at me and refused to serve a member of the family?” Kania tilted her head slightly, curving her lips into a faint smile brimming with menace. “To my mother, I might be a troublesome child. But to her, you’re nothing more than a bug she can fire and replace in a matter of seconds. Are you willing to risk your job for this stupid ego of yours?”
Bi Narti’s body trembled faintly. The pressure of the Goddess Charm System’s aura unconsciously pierced her mental defenses, making irrational fear quickly creep through her chest. What’s wrong with Miss Dewi? She’s usually obedient and afraid of me! Bi Narti thought.
“Are you going to keep daydreaming?” Kania snapped.
“I-I...” Bi Narti stammered, no longer daring to meet Kania’s eyes directly. “All right, I’ll m-move your belongings for you, Miss.”
“Good! Move my things out of that cramped room right now,” Kania ordered again, this time in an absolute tone that allowed no argument. “Choose the best vacant guest room on the second floor. And remember... if even one of my things is damaged or dirty, I’ll make sure your name is the first one I mention when my mother gets home.”
Bi Narti bowed her head deeply, all her arrogance vanishing and being replaced by obedience forced upon her by overwhelming fear.
“Y-yes, Miss Dewi... I... I’ll move them right away,” the servant squeaked softly before hurrying toward Kania’s cramped room at the end of the corridor without daring to look back.
Kania remained where she was, watching the servant’s back disappear behind the door. She let out a long breath, easing the tension in her chest.

Good, Kania thought as she slowly walked toward the main staircase of the luxurious house. This is only the beginning. Step by step, I’ll take back everything that should belong to Dewi.
Kania began climbing the red-carpeted stairs leading to the upper floor. The fragrant scent of fresh flowers and the lavish decorations for her younger sister Erin’s birthday party grew stronger. But Kania didn’t care. Today, she would no longer hide in the shadows.
“Tsk, what a lively party. But I don’t feel like showing myself to you all just yet!”
