From the fifth through the seventh group, the woman allowed the girls to enter, making them incredibly happy. Then, from the eighth through the twelfth group, they were eliminated for unclear reasons and had to leave immediately.
In reality, this selection didn't require a diploma, but the job was still highly sought after by the girls.
When the final group came up, only Anastasya and another girl remained standing before the woman.
That made Anastasya sweat even more and grow increasingly anxious. She knew this would be very difficult, but Anastasya held on and didn't want to disappoint her family.
Next, the woman serving as head maid began studying the two tense-looking girls' faces. She circled them both, then leaned closer and sniffed Anastasya and the other girl's scent. Finally, the woman announced her decision.
“You two, come in,” the woman told them.
Anastasya breathed a sigh of relief, then immediately prostrated herself on the floor, thanking the Almighty because it seemed her prayers had been answered.
The girl standing beside her was moved as well. She quickly prostrated herself beside Anastasya, then hugged her while crying tears of joy.
“This is all thanks to my mother’s prayers. I really wanted to work in this house, and now I’ve been accepted,” the girl said through happy tears.
“Yeah,” Anastasya replied, wiping away her own tears.
Then Anastasya hugged the girl who had passed alongside her. After that, the two of them introduced themselves.
“Oh, right. What’s your name?” Anastasya asked, turning to the girl beside her.
“I’m Ayuni. Just call me Ayu. What about you?” Ayu asked Anastasya.
“I’m Anastasya, and you can call me Tasya,” Anastasya said, introducing herself to Ayuni as well.
“Okay, Tasya. Then let’s go inside. They said we’d be given a special room,” Ayu said.
“Yeah,” Anastasya replied with a nod.
The girls who had passed the selection were immediately escorted to their respective rooms by two women in special uniforms.
The same went for Anastasya and Ayuni. The two of them began walking into the house with pounding hearts. But once they were inside, Anastasya was awestruck by the hallway. The interior was incredibly elegant, with red carpets covering the floors and numerous paintings displayed on the walls. On top of that, she was presented with many other things she had never seen before, leaving Anastasya even more dazzled by the grandeur of the house.
Then, after she and the others were escorted by the two uniformed women, they stopped in front of a room on the ground floor.
“All right, girls, this is your room. Now quickly change into the uniforms we’ve provided, then gather at a designated place. There, you’ll meet Ms. Hesti,” one of the uniformed women told the girls.
“Yes, ma’am,” Anastasya and the others replied.
Ms. Hesti’s subordinate continued.
“Ms. Hesti will give you instructions later and explain what your duties will be while you’re here. Do you understand?” the woman asked the girls.
“We understand, ma’am,” the girls said together.
“All right, girls, you don’t have much time to change. You have only fifteen minutes. If you take longer than that, be prepared to receive punishment from Ms. Hesti,” the woman explained.
Huh?!
Anastasya and Ayuni were instantly shocked to hear that, and their hearts began pounding.
Anastasya thought, Is this what it’s like to work in the Abraham Selamet household? It’s so strict and nerve-racking. And there will be punishments, too.
Just as her mother had said when she was still at home, the Selamet family was known for being incredibly cruel.
“Come on, Vio. We can’t waste any time,” Ayu said to Anastasya.
“Yeah,” Anastasya replied.
After settling into her room, she began unpacking as quickly as possible. She immediately put the clothes she had brought from home into the wardrobe, and Ayuni did the same. They looked incredibly busy that morning.
Afterward, they quickly changed into the uniforms the staff had given them. But once she was dressed neatly, Ayuni sat in front of the mirror and applied lipstick to her lips. Anastasya couldn’t let Ayuni waste the two of them’s time.
“Ayu, come on. Don’t do your makeup yet,” Anastasya said, pulling Ayu by the hand.
“Yeah, I’m done,” Ayuni replied.
Then the two of them ran down a hallway, searching for the place where the other girls would gather.
“Oh my God, I hope Ayu and I aren’t late,” Anastasya thought, her heart pounding.
Who knew what they would face in that house? And it would all begin that very morning.
