The Abraham Selamet house had two floors and extremely luxurious facilities. On the front part of the first floor was the living room, followed farther inside by a family room, separated by a fairly long corridor. On both the left and right sides of the corridor were ten bedrooms each, but that wasn't all—every room also had its own attached bathroom.
The middle rooms were occupied by the female maids, while outside, at the back and along the side of the house, there were more rooms, each with its own bathroom. However, those rooms were reserved specifically for the male servants.
Past the central corridor was the kitchen, and behind it was a swimming pool. Beyond the backyard was a pavilion that was never used but was always cleaned by the servants.
The entire Abraham family occupied the upper floor. Naturally, their rooms were different from the servants' rooms below.
That was a brief description of the Abraham Selamet house. It was quite spacious, with a million luxuries.
Anastasya and Ayuni were looking for the meeting place where they were supposed to gather.
They continued walking until they saw another girl in the same uniform passing by them, so Ayuni tried to greet her.
"Do you know where our first meeting is being held?" Ayuni asked the girl.
"Yes, we have to gather in the backyard. A staff member told me that's where it would be," the girl replied to Ayuni.
"Okay, we'll go with you," Ayuni said.
"Yes, we'll be gathering there soon," she replied.
Accompanied by the two girls, Anastasya continued walking past the kitchen and swimming pool. Then she turned right and found several other girls there.
However, the girls' clothes were different. Some wore red uniforms, while others wore yellow. Anastasya and Ayuni, along with the other two girls, were wearing blue.
It turned out that the place where they were gathering had a fountain. Anastasya was puzzled by the directions they'd been given.
What a hassle. They could've just said to gather by the fountain, but instead they made it so complicated. And they barely gave us any time, too, Anastasya thought. For some reason, the rules in the Abraham household were so convoluted and confusing.
There were also three women in green uniforms standing in front of the girls. The three of them looked as though they were supervising something.
The woman in the middle looked like a senior staff member. Her gaze was sharper, and she appeared stricter. Judging by her features, she also seemed older than the other two women standing to her left and right.
Then one of the three women glanced at the watch on her wrist and spoke.
"Okay, no one is late today. You're safe from punishment," the woman announced.
Anastasya and Ayuni immediately breathed a sigh of relief, though they had no idea what kind of punishment they would have received if they'd been even one minute late.
Next, the most senior of the women in green began explaining the girls' duties and responsibilities.
"I'm Ms. Hesti, and while you're here, I'll be in charge of you. Do you understand?" the woman asked sternly.
"Yes, ma'am," all the girls replied.
"Good. Then I'll explain what your duties are here.
Ms. Hesti paced back and forth, observing every girl present. Then she continued explaining.
"Those of you wearing red uniforms will work in the kitchen, helping the cooks prepare everything needed there and helping cook for Mr. Abraham's family. Those of you wearing yellow uniforms will wash and iron all the clothes in this house. And lastly, those wearing blue will..." Ms. Hesti stopped.
Ayuni and Anastasya, along with the other two girls wearing blue, listened nervously. The two of them looked at each other, as though some kind of surprise were waiting for them.
Then Ms. Hesti continued.
"You will be the cleaning staff. You'll clean the yard, mop the floors, and clean all the rooms here. You'll also tidy the Abraham family's rooms. Do you understand your respective duties?" Ms. Hesti asked sternly, facing the four girls in blue uniforms.
"Yes, ma'am," Anastasya and the other girls replied.
"Good. Then you may all leave and do your best working for this family," Ms. Hesti told the girls in the different uniforms.
"Yes, ma'am," they answered in unison.
