One week had passed since the main event. Karin was now enjoying lunch in her classroom.
"Rin, can you teach me this? I'm confused," Lena asked just as Karin was about to eat her favorite cracker.
Karin turned to see Lena handing her a notebook filled with math problems.
"Which one?" she asked.
"This one," Lena replied, pointing to one of the problems.
"Oh, this one goes like this." Karin explained it until Lena understood.
"That's all there is to it?" Lena said once she understood Karin's explanation.
"Yeah, pretty much. Haha." Karin laughed.
Karin really did like teaching her friends whenever they had trouble, especially with math. She didn't know why, but whenever she found an answer, it made her happy.
While she was joking around with her friends, a notification suddenly came through on Karin's phone.
Rin, wanna go to the cafe next Sunday? someone who was none other than Jidan wrote.
After reading the message, Karin tried to remember whether she had plans that Sunday.
What time? Karin asked to make sure.
How about around three in the afternoon? I'll pick you up later, Jidan replied.
Okayyy.
Not long afterward, the school bell rang, signaling that class was about to begin.
Karin and her friends quietly followed the lesson.
School was over, and Karin got ready to go home. She didn't have any meetings or other activities after school today.
"Rin, where are you going?" Ninda asked as Karin was about to leave the classroom.
"Home?" Karin replied, confused.
"You do this all the time. We're supposed to practice," Ninda said.
"Huh? Practice what?" Karin had completely forgotten that they had practice scheduled.
"The dramaaa," Ninda said, trying to tug on Karin's ear.
Karin finally remembered.
"Oh, right! Hahaha, I forgot," she said, putting her bag back down.
"As usual. Just because you're the leader," several of Karin's friends teased.
"Hehe, sorry, sorry," Karin said, striking an apologetic pose toward them.
In a few weeks, Karin's class would be putting on a large-scale drama for their regional-language practical exam.
Her teacher had appointed Karin as the leader of the performance.
"Okay, where did we leave off in practice yesterday?" Karin asked her friends.
Her friends looked at one another, trying to remember the previous day's rehearsal.
"Was it this part? When the king was touring the neighborhood," one of them said.
"What king lives in a neighborhood? Hahaha," another friend replied.
They all laughed, including Karin.
"All right, let's just start there. It's fine," Karin said.
"Okay, we're ready," several of her friends replied.
They practiced, making several revisions at Karin's direction.
After nearly an hour, Karin told them to take a break.
"Rin, can I make a suggestion?" asked Nita, one of her classmates, as she approached Karin while Karin ate a snack she'd just bought from the street vendor outside the school.
"Sure, what is it?" Karin asked eagerly.
From the very beginning, Karin had been well-liked by her classmates because she was easy to get along with and always liked explaining things whenever they had trouble understanding a lesson.
After practicing for two hours with a 15-minute break, Karin and her friends agreed to end practice for the day.
"When should we practice again, Rin?" Sinta asked.
"When? How about Saturday?" Karin suggested.
"Sure. At school?" another friend asked.
"Yeah, let's do it at school," Karin replied.
"Okayyy, don't forget," Karin said.
"We're the ones who should be saying that!" her friends replied in unison, immediately bursting into laughter.
"Hahaha, sorry. I really did forget that we had practice today," Karin said defensively.
After discussing when their next practice would be, Karin and her friends went home.
Karin sat in front of the school, waiting for her father to pick her up.
"We're heading out, Rin," several friends who had motorcycles said.
"Yeah, take care," Karin replied.
Ah, what a tiring yet fun day.
