The girl underwent another body treatment today. All her nails were trimmed down, her hair was cut and curled, and the light makeup on her face made Kinanti look even more perfect.
Angga ordered the servants to prepare Kinanti for tonight. Tonight, Angga would finally do what he had been looking forward to for so long. Kinanti was the girl he had once loved—and the girl he had hated ever since. He hoped that after tonight, he could love Kinanti again and that she would accept him, not because of the black ink on paper.
“Miss, you look absolutely gorgeous. And the dress fits you perfectly,” Ningsih praised.
A smile tugged at Kinanti’s lips as she looked at her reflection. She really was beautiful, but... Oh God, please let my heart calm down a little. Pray this is the end of all my suffering. Kinanti prayed silently, her expression turning melancholy.
“Miss.” Ningsih’s voice was soft. “This is what you’ll wear after dinner tonight.” Ningsih gave her a pointed look as she held up the skimpy outfit.
Kinanti’s face flushed when she saw the clothes in Ningsih’s hands. “Aren’t you embarrassed to wear something like that?” Kinanti said as she accepted the outfit and turned it over in her hands.
“Sir ordered it, Miss.” Ningsih blushed, her dirty mind already imagining Kinanti wearing the sheer outfit.
“You pervert,” Kinanti muttered.
Ningsih no longer responded to Kinanti’s grumbling. After everything was finished, the servants who had tended to Kinanti left the room. The girl looked at her reflection in the mirror again. She really was perfect, and the treatments she had undergone several times had only enhanced Kinanti’s beauty.
The girl sat on the sofa, trying to relax her mind as she looked at the watch on her wrist. “Whew, that fake-clean lecherous bastard will be home soon.” Kinanti felt like she wanted to keep cursing.
She tried to control her pounding chest, caught between fear, anger, and hatred. To ease her restlessness, Kinanti fiddled with her phone, looking for even a moment of entertainment. Suddenly, her eyes caught sight of the person she was desperately looking for—right there on her phone, doing a live stream. Kinanti’s fingers trembled, caught between happiness and hatred.
Lisa!!
Kinan immediately called Lisa, but the call was redirected. It looked like Lisa had changed her phone number.
Kinanti kept watching to figure out where Lisa was while sending a message in her live stream’s chat.
[Lisa, it’s Kinan. Where are you now?]
But the moment Lisa read Kinanti’s message, she ended the live stream.
Kinanti didn’t give up. She sent a private message, but there was no reply.
Kinanti tried to remember where Lisa had been live-streaming from earlier. “Bingo.” Kinanti snapped her fingers. “I’ll get you, Lis. Because of you, I’m being humiliated like this. My life is almost completely ruined.”
Kinanti quickly climbed off the bed, peeked out the door, and saw that the hallway was empty. She grabbed her wallet and left the room, walking carefully. She took off her sandals so they wouldn’t make any noise.
It seemed Dewi Fortuner was on Kinanti’s side. The girl had already made it outside the towering gate without anyone noticing. For a moment, she stared at the tall gate, a faint smile touching her lips.
The girl jogged away, briefly confused about which direction led out of the upscale neighborhood. She hid behind a large tree and ordered a motorbike ride-share, checking her wallet first. Luckily, she still had some money left from Nindia.
“Is it enough? Oh, right, I already got paid.”
Kinan opened her mobile banking app, and her lips immediately spread into a grin. “You’re lucky, Kinan.”
The girl quickly booked a motorbike ride-share and sent her location. Not long afterward, a motorcycle appeared, heading toward her. The man on it looked around, searching for the person who had booked his service.
“Hey!” Kinanti called, waving.
“Miss, why are you hiding?”
Kinanti only smiled and hurriedly put on the helmet, worried that someone might see her. “Let’s go, sir.” Kinan patted the ride-share driver’s back.
After arriving and paying the driver, Kinan hurried inside the house.
“Lis, Lisa!! I know you’re in there!” Kinan shouted while pounding on Lisa’s bedroom door.
Kinanti tried the door handle repeatedly, but it was locked. “Lis, open up. Because of you, I ended up in the lion’s den, Lis!!”
Crash.
The sound of a pot shattering rang out in front of the house. Kinanti rushed outside and saw Lisa already climbing onto the motorcycle ride she had just taken.
“Lisa!!” Kinanti screamed, calling after her, but her cousin didn’t care. She left Kinanti behind, continuing to shout her name until several neighbors came over.
Kinanti kept calling out even after Lisa had vanished from sight. She sank to the ground in front of the house and sobbed uncontrollably.
