# Chapter 10
While Nir was worried about Blue because he hadn't returned yet, he stood up and glanced around. Even though he knew he was a slasher, he still felt a kind of fear in his heart whenever his eyes looked at the dark bushes.
Who knows what might jump out at him at any moment? He didn't even know. Still, while getting scared, he moved forward, holding the torch given by Liya, and headed in the direction where he had seen Blue heading.
Every slasher here has a weapon with them. Everyone has a different one, which was given to them by their guild. But since Nir wasn't joined in any guild, he didn't have any weapon at all.
“Even if I had any weapons, I don't think I would have been able to use it,” Nir mumbled.
As he was going ahead, he felt like someone was behind him, but every time he glanced back, there was no one there. Now his heart was beating so fast, and he was seeing eyes in the dark.
Believing that we have hallucinations in the dark, we see strange beings. That's why he was still moving ahead, but he didn't have the courage to call Blue's name.
He was just moving forward, and then he was pushed onto the ground. Startled, his torch fell down. He quickly started to search on the ground, and when he found it, he quickly shone the torch around but didn't find anyone.
So he sighed in relief, and when he shone the torch ahead of him, he saw a black figure who was neither human nor monster, but a mixture of both. His hands were like a human's, while his legs were like an animal's, and its face was also as horrible as an animal's.
Nir's heart skipped a beat. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. He clenched his eyes tightly after seeing the figure, but when he opened them again, there was no one.
Nir moved his torch around to see, but he couldn't see anything. He believed it was an illusion and that he must be imagining things in the dark. That's why he stood up, but as he stood up, the figure was standing right in front of him.
“Y-You,” he stammered, falling down again.
In front of him, the figure was standing. Nir understood that it must be something like the woman earlier who was a rat.
"So, aren't you going to charge at me, like other Slashers? Or are you low rank? Is that why you're just going to run away while screaming for help?"
Nir knew that he wasn't in any position to get angry after hearing that creepy figure, but still, shocked, he stood there looking at the figure.
"Look at you, trembling, seeing me, still not calling anyone for help. I like it. I will kill you the most. A gentle death."
Before Nir could even react, the figure opened its mouth wide. Not only did his head, from his neck up, become enormous, but his body from the neck down remained the same. He looked as if he could swallow Nir whole in a single bite. His entire face and mouth had become that large.
“Oh my God!” Nir's eyes widened.
He realized who his opponent was and quickly turned around to leave. But as he did, the strange figure suddenly grabbed Nir by his shoulder and pulled him back.
Nir was scared and was now being pulled back. As he glanced behind him, he saw that the figure's hands were stretched out, and, like ropes, they gripped Nir's hand.
The figure was pulling Nir towards itself, which was terrifying. Nir was about to scream for help, but just then, one of his hands was grabbed from behind.
He quickly glanced back and saw Blue standing there, grabbing his hand.
“Wow, you have guts to fight with a being stronger than you,” Blue said with a laugh.
"No, I am not fighting with him. From which angle does it look like I am fighting with him? That thing is trying to eat me alive. Blue, save me, please."
A smirk spread across Blue's lips. "Call me Master Blue from now on, then I will save you now."
Nir couldn't believe his ears. His life was in danger, and what Blue wanted was respect. "Okay, Master Blue."
Hearing that Blue became satisfied, he pulled Nir to himself. Nir's back collapsed against Blue's chest. Right away, Blue threw Nir behind him and moved forward.
“Wow, look what an ugly thing we have here,” Blue mocked the figure.
The figure looked at Blue but then tilted its head, its large eyes searching for Nir. Nir flinched at those eyes, but then Blue also tilted his head.
As Blue took a step forward, he pulled something from the air, and suddenly a black, shining sword appeared in his hand. He pointed the sword at the figure.
"I didn't want to kill you, but what can I do? Since you disrespect me, you will have to die," Blue said, and he rushed forward, aiming his sword at the figure's face. But as his sword was about to touch the figure's face, it disappeared. Blue glanced around to see where the figure had gone.
"Surprise."
As those words reached Blue's ears, he glanced at Nir right away and saw that the figure was standing behind Nir while its one long, big fingernail was touching Nir's neck.
"You are so strong, almost at my level. I think you are like me. But you are here with humans to help them, so I will have to do something."
Blue's eyebrow raised after hearing that figure, and he rested his sword on the ground while holding it.
"If you don't want this human to die, then join hands with me, will you?"
Mostly, these tricks work because no matter what rank you are, when someone's life is on the line, everyone panics. And that monster has done this many times before to kill high-ranking Slashers.
The monster was smiling, looking at Blue and the tip of his nail, which was sharp like a knife, and it could pierce through Nir's neck at any moment.
Nir was trembling; he was so scared that he couldn't make any sound. He was just silently crying. Tears were dripping from his eyes because it was as if his death was by his side.
"umm...Why are you telling me? If you want to kill that pathetic human, then why don't you kill him directly? Why bother with words?"
The monster was shocked because this was not what he had expected. Normally, people might stop him and beg him, but Blue wasn't reacting like that.
"I get it; you are just pretending not to care. Then let's see if I kill this human. Will you still behave the same?"
The monster said, and his eyes turned toward Nir, whose eyes were closed in fear, and he was shaking. And when he was about to pierce him with his nails, blood spilled out and scattered on the ground.
"You should act fast, don't you think? If you act this slowly, then you will not be able to kill anyone," Blue said.
Blue's sword had pierced through that monster's neck. He pulled out his sword, and the monster disappeared from there.
Nir fell to the ground; his face was pale, and he was panting. His heart was beating very fast.
"Did that monster die?" Nir asked, looking at the place where the monster was standing a moment ago.
"He didn't die; he just ran away from here after getting hurt, that piece of shit. " Blue said staring around, and he swung his sword in the air, and it disappeared completely. Nir didn't saw that.
