Chapter 6
"Why don't I kill that chick first? Then we can talk, handsome."
"Go talk to yourself, ugly woman. I don't have any interest in you. Can't you see I'm handsome? I will choose who is more beautiful, not someone like you." Blue rested his index finger under his chin while curling up.
"Let me think. Why don't we do this? I will kill you, then I will go look around for your boss," he said.
Hearing that, the lady became angry. She started to glare at Blue, and suddenly cracked her neck, and rushed forward, but her target was not Blue; it was Nir.
Nir clenched his eyes tightly, seeing her coming towards him; he was scared. But before she could even pass by Blue, Blue's hand struck her throat, and with one hand he threw her back. She fell to the ground and quickly rose to her feet.
"Very well, I had a feeling you were not ordinary Slashers like those weaklings. You have more strength, which I am liking."
Hearing her, Blue glanced at Nir. "Brat, you are nothing but a burden on me. Why don't you go and hide yourself? Don't stand here in my way like an idiot," Blue shouted.
And Nir followed his instructions. He turned around and went inside the room. While holding the door, he peeked outside to see.
Now, only that lady and Blue were standing in the hallway.
“Now, should we start? I am dying to fight with you. Show me how much power you've got, rat,” Blue said.
Creaking his knuckles, he stepped forward at the woman. Without wasting any effort, he kicked her, but she didn't fall down; instead, she scratched her cheeks. And suddenly, she peeled her skin off, and in just a few seconds, a big rat was standing in front of Blue.
She was looking so ugly. Even Nir's eyes widened. He couldn't believe that a woman had turned into a big rat right in front of his eyes.
"OH MY GOD!" Nir screamed in disbelief. "That woman turned into a rat. A rat?!" Nir was getting panicked, but that was making Blue more irritated.
"HEY... shut up, or else I will cut your tongue."
Hearing Blue's cold voice, Nir flinched because of the way Blue was standing in front of that rat without any fear on his face. It was clear he could cut Nir's tongue too, as he was saying.
Nir covered his mouth with one hand and made an okay sign with the other. Blue turned ahead, and just then, that rat jumped on him.
Blue's hands were pushing under the rat's mouth. But then he quickly pushed her away against the wall.
“Disgusting rat, how dare you touch me! You stink.“ Blue felt disgusted because of that rat. His anger had also risen.
He knew he would have to end her now. It didn't matter how much bigger or more powerful she was because Blue was not weak either.
Nir thought Blue looked cool while fighting. Blue had even instructed Nir, while fighting, not to go anywhere else and to just stay there, because he was not safe if he went further from Blue.
So Nir was holding tightly onto the door while looking at Blue as he finished off that rat. From time to time, Nir glanced around at both sides of the hallway.
And just then, Nir felt a touch on his hand, which startled him, because he had seen that there was no one inside the room. So who had held his hand from behind?
His heart skipped a beat, as if he were about to have a heart attack. Now his heart was beating so fast. Still mustering courage, Nir glanced inside slowly and saw a kid standing there crying.
He wasn't a very small kid; his height reached Nir's stomach. But the way the kid was crying was so sad that Nir felt pity for him. However, he remembered what he had seen just a moment ago: that human-looking woman turning into a rat.
So he wasn't sure if the kid standing in front of him was human or some kind of monster. He pulled his hand back from the kid and created distance between them.
"Who are you? And how did you get in?" Nir asked.
His eyes were fixed on the child, filled with doubt. The child was crying even harder and pointed a finger at the window. Nir didn't know why the child was pointing at the window, but he still went to look down from it.
He found a rope ladder hanging from the window, leading down. As he looked, he saw someone wearing a black cloak taking Orika away.
Seeing that Nir turns back, he was thrown down from the window by the same kid. As he was falling, he grabbed the hanging stairs and, with their help, started to climb down.
As Nir's feet touched the ground, he glanced up and saw that the little kid was looking down with a scared face. But while pushing him down, that kid had the same expression.
Nir couldn't believe he fell for that kid's trick, who wasn't even human, but because of that, he got to see Orika. He was safe for now, but he would have to save him first, no matter what.
Who knows if he got late and something indeed happened to Orika; he wouldn't be able to forgive himself if something like that happened.
Nir's feet were running toward the direction he had seen that unknown person running with Orika.
Nir was running faster, but his speed was average. On top of that, it was a jungle, and he couldn't even see footsteps now since sunlight was not reaching the ground.
He stood there in the middle, glancing all around him, just to get any clue where that person had taken Orika, but he couldn't hear or feel anything.
He was disappointed in himself for being such a weak person who can't even do anything. Fear was gripping his face as he was thinking he was getting late.
