The next morning, Daniel took an old train heading toward a small town surrounded by mountains. He had no plan. He simply bought a ticket and sat beside the window. After several hours, the train stopped at a quiet station. An old man entered the carriage and sat across from him. “You look lost,” the old man said. Daniel smiled weakly. “I am.” The old man laughed. “Good.” Daniel looked confused. “Good?” “Yes. Sometimes being lost is the beginning of finding yourself.” The old man introduced himself as Samuel. They talked throughout the journey. Daniel told him about his job, his loneliness, and the feeling that his life had no meaning. Samuel listened carefully. Then he said, “You are looking for the meaning of life as if it were a destination.” “What do you mean?” “Perhaps life isn't about finding one answer. Perhaps it is about discovering many small reasons to keep walking.” Those words stayed with Daniel long after they said goodbye.
