Arrabella stood frozen in the doorway.
Her eyes slowly swept over the entire room she had just entered.
For several seconds, she couldn't even believe this was the bedroom of a wife from the Danendra family.
The room was so small.
Its walls were painted a dull white. A narrow single bed stood pushed against the corner, covered with simple sheets whose color had begun to fade. Beside it was a small table just large enough to hold a bedside lamp and a glass of water.
There was no luxurious wardrobe, no large vanity, no sofa, and no spacious balcony like the ones she usually saw in wealthy family homes.
Even the bedroom window was small and faced the backyard.
Arrabella blinked several times. “This... is a bedroom?”
She stepped inside slowly. Her hand brushed over the surface of the table, which was covered in a thin layer of dust. Then she opened the door of the small wardrobe in the corner.
Inside were only a few simple outfits. Some of them even looked like they had been worn for a long time.
Arrabella frowned. “No way.”
She immediately left the room and looked to her right and left. Maybe she had entered the wrong room.
However, a small plaque beside the door made her stop.
The name Arrabella was written on it.
So this really was her room.
“How is that possible?”
Arrabella went back inside.
Slowly, the original owner's memories began to surface. She finally understood everything.
After marrying Nareswara, Arrabella had never been given the master bedroom. The Danendra family didn't even consider her a daughter-in-law worthy of a place in their home.
This room had once belonged to a servant.
Since no one was willing to give her a proper room, Arrabella had been placed here.
Meanwhile, Nareswara lived in the spacious, luxurious master bedroom on the second floor.
Arrabella clenched her fists. “So they've been treating me like a servant this whole time?”
Her jaw tightened. She looked around the room again.
In her previous world, she had been a female CEO. She was used to having a spacious office, a bedroom with a large bed, and every possible comfort.
That didn't mean she was spoiled.
But to be treated like this after getting married?
No!
Her pride would never allow her to accept this.
Arrabella walked toward the small mirror hanging on the wall. She stared at her reflection.
A beautiful face with pale skin and long hair that was still wet from falling into the swimming pool.
There was a reddish mark on her neck. Her eyes still looked tired.
But the gaze of the woman in the mirror had already changed.
The original Arrabella might have cried upon seeing this room. But the Arrabella standing here now merely smiled faintly.
“All right.” She brushed her wet hair back. “If they think I'm going to stay silent forever, they're badly mistaken.”
Suddenly, footsteps sounded outside.
Arrabella turned around.
A middle-aged woman stood in the doorway.
The woman was wearing a servant's uniform. She looked shocked to see Arrabella already standing and fully conscious. “Madam?”
Arrabella raised an eyebrow. “What?”
The woman hesitated. “Mr. Nareswara said you nearly drowned.”
“As you can see, I'm still alive.”
The woman lowered her head. “Thank goodness.”
Arrabella studied the woman for a moment. There was something strange about her. “What's your name?”
“I'm Mirah, Madam.”
“Mirah.” Arrabella nodded slowly. Then her gaze shifted to the room. “How long have I been living here?”
Mirah looked confused because Arrabella seemed like someone who had lost her memory. “Since you married Mr. Nareswara.”
“And no one thought this room was too small for a wife of the Danendra family?”
Mirah immediately fell silent.
From her expression, Arrabella already had her answer.
No one had.
They might even have thought this was perfectly normal.
Arrabella let out a short laugh. “How interesting.”
Arrabella walked toward her small wardrobe. “From now on, I want all my belongings moved.”
Mirah blinked. “Moved where?”
“The master bedroom. Where else? I'm the lady of this house, and I have every right to get what I want!”
